Being me and only me. Hmmm, other than that I tend to be into the following: others, snowboarding and being horrible at it, watching films and movies (there is a difference), listening to people, going to Target, observing people, putting off what can be done tomorrow, art, and most importantly music, music music among many other things like laughing at life and the humor it provides... Also, I tend to battle boredumb, evil doers and old woman for the next spot in the check out line at the market. And now another short list that doesn't give the whole picture of what makes me "me" and what I dislike: Easily frustrated folks, the folks that wear ignorance well, the lack of consideration, lint, my cat's hair not on my cat, and folks that don't know the difference of blowing off steam and complaining. Oh yeah, nazis, monsters under the bed (closet monsters welcomed), radishes, smears on my glasses, loooong red lights when there is no traffic to be seen for eons and "dirty" hippies.
Those who can and will. Not so much those who want, and not those who don't. That's deep, huh? I like social folks, I like chatting about about anything as long as the conversation is good and not one sided. Also, interesting folks not solely based on their careers but personal interests. I also want to meet folks with amazing hair, hairdressers, stylists, barbers and those crazy bitches on Shear Genius even the show was kind of weak..I also finally met Buck 65 so he's off the list...
I have been a music critic for 7 years, I've worked at a college radio station for 4 years where I was music director for 2 years AND I have worked music retail for more years then I would care to mention but started back in 1993. I think I like some music. You name it, I have a favorite in most genres of music from punk, hXc, electronic, IDM, hip hop, jazz, country, avant garde, blues, rock, indie rock, and so on... But seriously I love a whole lot of music. I am also no longer a music snob and can truely appreciate a guilty pleasure.
Eternal Sunshine, Seven Samurai, Layer Cake, Snatch, Lock Stock, High Fidelity, Shaun of the Dead, Where Eagles Dare, Dodgeball, Anchorman, Zoolander, Old School, Boondock Saints, Harold and Kumar, Clerks Saga, Super Troopers, Swingers, Lost in Translation and others but I'm drawing a blank... Once again, I just like a lot of quality films and love making the adventure of the theatre and crazy talk before and after the movie but not during so bite your tongue, sir or madam as the case may be!!!
Brasseye, Greg the Bunny, Family Guy, Daily Show, Scrubs, Colbert Report, Top Chef, Simpsons, Ali G, Young Ones, Bottom, Iron Chef, the New Statesman, AquaTeen Hunger Force, Sealab, the Office, the Office (UK), Chappelle's Show, and the competitive shows on BRAVO like: Top Chef, Shear Genius, Project Runway... but I missed every episode of Heroes which I want to see and I have yet to see LOST so I have no opinion as of yet...
Yes, I own books such as Watership Down, Fight Club, Hairstyles of the Damned, Sin City graphis Novels, Chris Claremont, Sedaris, Palniuk, Burroughs (Both Willy and Edgar), Caleb Carr... I own many leather bound books that smell of mohogany.
I don't have heroes but I prefer to look up to people's work, art, performances and actions. People tend to let me down in one way or another. That's what I get for meeting some of my heroes.
