Adrian Rose

Adrian Rose is a newly discovered jazz singer born in New Orleans. Her mother, Estar Pearl, was a chanteuse from Paris, France who had decided to move to the Southern jazz community in the United States to further her career. To supplement her income, upon arrival to The Big Easy, she took a job as a housekeeper with a very wealthy man. After becoming romantically involved with her employer Estar became pregnant. This did not please her boss, so he discharged her immediately. Left with no income at all, and a child on the way, Estar turned to a African-American family of musicians she had met who performed nightly down on Bourbon street. They loved Estar and took her in to their home.The whole family was elated upon the arrival of baby Adrian Rose However, Estar felt her chances of providing for herself and her young daughter would be better back home in the nightclubs of Paris where she already had a tremendous following. So, she headed back across the seas to return to the financial comforts of her celebrity. Her plans were to send for her child as soon as she was resettled. Unfortunately Estar met with a yet unsolved ill fate and Adrian was left orphaned at only three months old. Adrian’s new adopted parents, Bouregard, Monique and brother Cedric, adored the beautiful child and raised her as their own. Daddy Bo, Mama Mo as she affectionately called them and Bro Ced…or “Chops” (because her brother played drums)…was the center of Adrian’s universe. They were the only family she had ever known. She loved them with all her heart…still something in her felt a bit lost and out of place. She had an inescapable and unexplainable loneliness in her heart…until one night she was asked to sing at the nightclub. The moment she stepped up to the microphone into the spotlight her loneliness seemed less and her life seemed more…more meaningful. Through the music she had found her connection to her soul.
