Seeing bands at night and drinking at the town hall. Eg this typical pic by Moshpittman:
See the shit that I have to put up with in that bar.
Oh and I skateboard, snowboard, play piano, guitar, sing, make music yadda yadda yadda.
A sugar mama
I appreciate all genres of music, although I'm mainly into what falls under and came out of the punk rock umbrella (eg. punk, postpunk, hardcore, emo, pop punk, ska). I love oldschool everything. 80's and pre-80's artists were the most original and revolutionary.
One thing that really annoys me is people who have a need to slag you out about your musical tastes, the bands you like etc (I'm talking to YOU hardcore snob). In my opinion anyone who limits their tastes to a single subgenre is truely missing out.
The best bands around are the crossover bands that can play in many scenes. The ones that are so hard to lable that you need to give them 5 lables and then eventually make up a new lable to describe the sound. These are the bands who are revolutionary and start trends. eg. The Ramones, The Pixies, Sonic Youth, Minor Threat, Bad Brains, Social Distortion, The Descendents, At The Drive-In just to name a few.
If you get anything out of my ramblings then remember this: A good song is a good song no matter who writes or performs it. Crap bands can produce a great song, and great bands can write some real pieces of shit. Manufactured solo artists may not write their own songs but damn a lot of those songs are well written (behind the scenes by some very very talented writers and real musicians).
And what is music anyway? This is very cliche but John Cage's 4'33" says it all.
Anyway here is where i put a meaningless list with some of the bands that i like.
