I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I am a music and baseball loving dude. I love to hang out with my wife and girls and I love to play guitar for them. I listen to Oakland A's games on the radio as if my life depended on it.

My Interests

In no particular order: baseball... music... bobblehead dolls (only Oakland A's)... learning... teaching... sharing.. Alibi and Lillian... Rachel... Weevil... Sisters 3... David James Duncan and John Irving... guitars... recording... playing live... watching others play live... Bill King's dulcet tones... barbecue... films about real people... the History Channel, Discovery Channel, A&E, PBS Kids, Court TV... Sex... McKinley Park... whiffleball... basketball (to play, not to watch)... politics... truth... Thomas Jefferson... and many, many more things.

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet folks who love music and conversation. A's fans encouraged.

Music:

Again, no particular order: REM, Pearl Jam, Tool, Counting Crows, Josephine, Nolan and the Last Action Heros, Oscar, Callbox, Rich Kazanjian, Tom Cox, Paradigm, Dashboard Confessional, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Semisonic, Marvin Gaye, Disposable Heroes of Hiphopracy, NWA (pure comedic genius if you ask me), Kevin Seconds, Jason Dean, Nirvana, Son Volt, Sean Finney, David Grey, the Doors, John Lennon, George Harrison, Alice in Chains, Chris Cornell, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Scott Weiland, Radiohead, Tonic (ever heard the song Waltz With Me?), Mark Nielebeck, Bad Religion, Janes Addiction, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Paul Simon, Bob Dylan, Nick Drake, Neil Young, Ice Cube, Johnny Cash, Christian Kiefer, the Kimberly Trip, the Proles, and a bunch of other bands and artists that I am leaving off.

Movies:

Well Star Wars, duh. Jaws. Indiana Jones. Goonies. Princess Bride, anybody want a peanut? the Secret of Nihm... a lot of other stuff too of course.

Television:

TV is not worth my time. Well except for the nerd channels like History Channel and Discovery and Court TV and such.

Books:

The Brothers K by David James Duncan, anything ever written by John Irving, Ralph Ellison's Invisible Man, Holy Blood Holy Grail, The last few books I have read are Year of Wonders by Geraldine Brooks (4.5 stars!), Tipping Point, Who Wrote the New Testament by Burton L Mack, The Miracle at St. Anna (4 out of 5 stars!)... much more but I can't think under pressure DAMMIT

Heroes:

My Brother. Without question.

Other than him, a bunch of ordinary people who have shown me things along the way.

Really, historical figure wise I like to read about Thomas Jefferson and Jesus, but hero is kind of a strong term for that. It's more like an interest which was another section I think.

Batman is cool.

My Blog
