About Me

Hi, welcome to my myspace page... I dance Argentine Tango and make music. Grew up in Switzerland, but you can find me now in the milongas of San Francisco and Buenos Aires. I do real estate by day and turn into a Tango addict at night. On occasions, i take a break from these delicious sins and go ski, snowboard, horseback ride. i love to meet new people, go for coffee in good company, do yoga, travel the world, and many more things I can't remember right now
Here's a more formal blurb Guillermo wrote for me before we headed to play in Argentina (sorry it's in Spanish...

Sounds Like: our music is upbeat, playful, and fun to dance Tango to. some say our music kicks a** and breathes, just as the dancing should. i think it means we have a great connection between us while performing, just like dancers live for a connected Tango moment, we play and make exciting arrangements with lots of voice exchanges, responses, while maintaining a solid danceable tango "beat".

we have plenty of notes to play since most tangos we play are usually played by a whole orchestra, so we pride ourselves for getting a pretty full sound for a trio. each of us in Trio Garufa dances obsessively, and we spend quite some time in Buenos Aires which keeps us immersed in the Tango world.

We are currently collaborating with San Francisco DJ Ben Hester, adding to the repertoire of timeless golden-age tangos, Grela-Troilo-Federico classics, and Nuevo Tangos of Astor Piazzolla, the new sound of electro-tangos, which the alternative Tango dancers love.
