"The Standard Fight" OUT NOW!

About Me

It all started one summers day in '98. The 1st August to be precise.Chris, Joe and Chris had nothing to do because their old band CHOPPER had split up in May of that year so they decided to have a go at doing somethng a bit different. They'd been playing pop punk songs at 10,000mph since 1993 and needed a change. They decided the speed should be about 35mph, bruhed the cobwebs off a few ditties they'd had in their back pockets got their mate Paul to stop fishing and play drums and PYLON was born. The first gig was at Players in Wakefield, the second at the Royal Park in Leeds, don't remember the third and fourth (too many drugs) and the fifth was with FUGAZI at the Leeds Met. We shat our pants! Many many many more gig happened over the next couple of years with lots of great band. Our first release was a 6 song s/t mini album released on the now defunct SUBJUGATION RECORDS in 2000. We played more gigs and then some more and in 2002 got Rob from NATHANIEL GREEN in to play piano and released a 4 song E.P called '2400v' on the then brand new label, ours being their first release, JEALOUS RECORDS. We then did a European tour which was really great until we got home and had all our equipment stolen from the van. This fucked us all up a bit. But we carried on regardless playing and playing and playing (once we'd replaced the gear that is!) and never stopped enjoying it for one minute. We were going to list the bands that we'd shared a stage with but it's still being written from memory and that could take sometime, but it'll be up here sometime soon. Not to for the purpose of bragging but sometime it's nice to write a list of things you've done so you don't forget. We hate macho ego attitude cock rock elitist scene wannabe the next big thing we rule and everybodyy else is shit but do you like my pointed shoes and oooh aren't my jean and vintage t-shirt tighter than yours I think I might be a trend setter twaddle. It's just not us and it never will be. Playing live is what we like to do and do it well. Our new album 'The Standard Fight' is out now on GRAVITY DIP RECORDS (www.gravitydip.com) The first pressing is a limited edition Double CD. The FREE cd contains our old releases which are out of print. It's available from our website www.pylonline.co.uk, all good record stores, Amazon, itunes, HMVonline etc etc.... Check it!!
