The Sect

About Me

The Sect were a punk band from the West Midlands a long long time ago. We started out at a time when punk was all about noise and politics, and bands like us who tried to bring some melodies back into it had a tough time. Eventually a bunch of like-minded bands came together, and the late 80s saw an explosion of popularity for us, Senseless Things, Mega City 4 and others. We released a bunch of records, one of which was in the NMEs albums of the year, and toured extensively. We supported All on their first UK tour, and played with the likes of the Lemonheads and Snuff. We split up in September 1991, and that should have been the end.......until now. Thanks to interest in Japan, we have got the four of us back together and are off over there to tour in September. There's all kinds of old songs being reissued on CD, and for the moment we're just having fun relearning them!
