check it out at www.myspace.com/greatearthquake
timothy recently recorded accoustic songs before he left
check them out at www.myspace.com/timothywildernessstory:
*tim found an old organ in an opp shop for $50 a few years ago, over the following two years 'when lions light candles' was mixture of tim by himself playing with the organ and various other toy insruments/ noah(drums) and tim playing slow drawn out songs/ and noah, tim and his brother chris (playing bass) playing a more intense music with high distorted vocals.
*over the next 12 months of living in various houses and playing in different bands, the three lads ended up in a one bedroom shack in the dandenongs. with the drums and organ set up in the living room it was hard to escape playing around - a new more minimalistic sound was formed with tim on keys and noah on drums. initially it was purely instrumental.
*tim got married and moved to the sea. to say goodbye noah & tim recorded four songs in an old friends studio (the roof of an old church). feeling the music was a little empty - vocals were added. this was in december 2004. that was meant to be the end..
the name:
in 2003 tim lived with his nona, in the garage was his little music space - a rug, a lamp, a chair & some guitars. his youngest brother (peter) visited once and they went downstairs into the garage and played one song for a long time. we thought that at that moment we would like to be lions -so we were. We were playing by candle light.
the name 'when lions light candles' was a silly name made for when friends or family come together and play music like we did that night. shortened it becomes 'lions light'.
