My Ode To "Beautiful Black Men"
Between the valley lie the vein,
of where civilization flows.
As I gaze across this vast landscape,
The quivering earth lets me know.
Beneath pounds a heart from where feelings cannot escape,
I describe you as the Majestic Motherland.
To whom all of her children, universally,
She still holds out her hand.
From whence forth came...A Nubian Prince as beautiful as you.
How can I ever begin to tell you,
Of all the life that flows from the depth of my oceans?
How can I ever begin to tell you,
Of the love that churns in the galley of my soul?
How can I ever begin to tell you,
Of the rush of the sea, that laps against
The shores of my heart?
How can I ever begin to tell you,
That without you, How can my heart be whole?
How can I ever say good-bye?
How can we ever part?
From whence forth came...A Love As Beautiful As You
And in all her Majesty, lies Africa...The Land
From where nations began.
And in all her wealth, her beauty, Yes, the of seed of man sprang,
Your skin the color of the land from which I came.
You’re made in Gods’ image and sent here to reign,
In all of His perfection, He blessed you with mind.
So sound, yet so complex, so simply divine.
You rise above obstacles, you run it with ease
In todays’ world you have freedom
When will your shackles be released?
Yet through all the struggles through the years you endured
And even at times, by the black woman you’ve been scorned
The presence of anger still lurks in your mind
To overcome it is to heal faster, just to remind that in
God’s Almighty, the world will all heal
Like skin that grows fresher as each dawn reveals
Your body the color of fruitful, rich nurturing soil
Each day brings your closer though payments in toil
Soil covered dark body that favors the earth
For from which came nations, the day of your birth
From when forth came....the strength as mighty as you
And as you talk to me about the struggles and strives
Patiently directing the directions of our lives
You fervently stress that many had died
Heralding the message that you bring
Through though your words might sound different
It tolls the same ring
Your struggles wrestles the world in her indifference
Even to her deaf ears, it will all one day make sense
Be it the America’s, or the other side of the track
A Nubian Prince will one day look and take back
And though imprisoned like Nelson, he’ll chanel his hurt
Make this world a Heaven, he’ll pick up the dirt
For greater is he that forgives, least forgets
I stand here and earthy maiden if asked to record
From whence forth came...power to rule and fairness to all
So struggle on brother, so struggle on man
You’ll have none believers, but I know you can
I’ve watched you up north, I’ve watched you down south
I’ve watched you feed the hungry, with food from your mouth
Let the none believers say what they may
You gave me your rib that I can never repay
You’ve pained and you’ve hurt, as those around you fall
From whence forth you came...equality and justice for all
So here on a pedestal, I now you place
People of color, the world has no race
I’ve begrudged you and hurt you, when impostors I’ve believed
So quick so judgmental, please help me retrieve
No bite of an apple, I’ve failed you again and again
Healing is through forgiving, and this is where we begin
Regal and dapper, and strenuous and dark
Let today be the day, that starts the landmark
I’ve failed you in so many ways before
To come to find that now, I love you even more
From whence forth came...forgiveness and love towards all
Please Nubian Prince, I beg at your feet
My place is beside you, our home is our retreat
We’ve done your injustice, these feelings are true
Almighty God and His wisdom, know what we would do
So He gave us a chance and a reason to start anew
You’ve scarred me, you’ve hurt me, you’ve left me and ran
I, much the perpetrator, the weapon still warm in my hand
Like mothers and daughters, and sisters together we band
From whence forth came...love and forgiveness all over the land
