Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Are you classically trained?
A: Yes.
Q: Are you well aware that your songs are simple, and not impossibly difficult or up to Beethoven's level!?
A: Quite so. I find simplicity is the best kind of music. While my ability to play exceeds what you hear, I find simple melodies are more enjoyable.
Q: Where did Anelat come from?
A: I don't really know.
Q: Which song means the most to you?
A: Hmph... Well, I'd have to say my new piece, Unprepared.
Q: Where can I get your CD?
A: For a long time I've been promising a CD, but it doesn't look like it's going to be happening anytime soon. I'm way too busy with other things. I'm just having fun writing and actually getting it on a computer!!
Q: How old are you?
A: I am 21.
Q: Tori Amos is so much better than you... I hope you know that.
A: Good for her.
Q: Why don't you sing in your songs?
A: Unfortunetly, I sing like someone stepped on my foot.
Q: Ever think about recording with someone else?
A: I jam out with my friend Renee once in a while, but nothing serious.
Q: Do you plan to make music your career choice?
A: No. Realistically, Instrumentalists rarely ever become famous nowadays, so I'm taking a more realistic route. I am currently working at a chain restaurant called Chili's and plan to get into restaurant management. But if the chance comes along, bring it. However, I don't want music to ruin my personal life. Celebrities have it rough with love life and paparazzi, I just don't want that.
I fly with 88 keys, and throw a mean kick. My name is Anelat.
Here's the story thus far...
When I was young, my father spotted and old rusty piano being thrown out down the street. He thought it would be a good idea to lug it into our basement, one rainy day. I found interest in it, teaching myself little by little, and finding out what notes sounded nice together.
My parents noticed my natural interest and signed me up for lessons. I took lessons from a woman named Sue Ciracchio for about 8 years, and was classically trained on the side.
At 13, I began composing my own music, finding out it was harder than it seemed.
I started to cover songs by my favorite artists, and my musical interest grew more and more. Soon, playing the piano became a hobby that took up most of my free time.
I can't sing... so, I never tried for a record deal. I recorded low-quality songs at my old friend Ross's house.
I was ecstatic that I could finally get my songs on a computer, and was hard at work writing, composing, and putting together a CD.
Soon, I bought my own recorder and from my room, I sat for hours writing, recording and rearranging melodies and tracks. (Hence the title name.)
After about 2 years of procrastinating, I gave up on making a cd. Luckily, I started playing songs with my friend Renee and it rejuiced my passion for composing.
I now continue to write and write and write and perform, play and cover songs. Yaaaaaay.
i guess you try to hard when pianos try to be guitars
