________The Gin River Outlaws has been a project of mine for nearly 15 years. I'm Mark Fisher and with my friend and partner in crime, Chris Burnett on lead guitar, I've played hundreds of late night gigs at whatever honky tonk hole in the wall that would have us. We've closed down the best and the worst bars and night clubs you can imagine. We seem to encourage high bar tabs and alot of hootin' and hollerin' as well as some dancin' now and then. Through the years we've had a few different players come in and out of the group, but we always seem to come out alright. The current line up consists of:Mark Fisher on Vocals and Rhythm Guitar
Chris "Maddog" Burnett on Lead Guitar
Jody Carson on Bass Guitar
Scott Gibson on DrumsIf I had to pin point our sound I'd need a barroom full of darts, but I can tell you that I was raised on Waylon Jennings, Hank Jr, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, and David Allan Coe. So as you can imagine, country music is the flavor of our sound, although I have heard us being refered to as Americana, whatever that means. Some fans call us Southern Rock or Hard Core Honky Tonk, but we just play what we love to hear. We've done our share of playing live, but we've also done a little recording as well. I am a strong beleiver in having original music as a big part of our live show. You cannot possibly call yourself an artist without original material. I have been writting songs since I was around 12 years old and feel like I have a few good ones. As a band we are constantly working on original songs. Most of which are written about real life events that we have encountered and our audience can relate to. Give our CD a listen and you can make up your own mind.
