About Me

I was born in late 1566 to Lettice Knollys and Walter Devereux. I had two sisters and a brother. My father died when I was young, but I was very close to my mother and step-father, Robert Dudley. He was the one who took me to court, where I became a favorate of Queen Elizabeth I after my step-father (her old favorate) died. I spent some time with the Cecil family, and I didn't get along with their son Robert. I liked to party and have fun all the time. The Queen thought it was fun at first, but then I got wilder and she was less tolerant towards my behavior. She wanted to keep me close, but I wanted to have fun. I went out to fight in Lisbon without her permission, but she forgave me eventually. I then went to Cadiz, where I became a hero. This made the Queen mad (she was probably jealous of my popularity). In 1590 I married Frances Walsingham (named after her dad, he had an ego). The Queen didn't like that much, but she always forgave me. I messed up in Ireland. Then I was under house arrest and it seemed like she'd forgive me again. But I did something really stupid and tried to start a rebellion to get rid of Robert Cecil (I HATE HIM!) and the Queen found out I'd been writing letters to King James. I was put on trial and most of my friends betrayed me so they could live, and Robert Cecil made a speech about what a traitor I was. I got beheaded on February 25, 1601. I don't blame the Queen though, or even my friends who ditched me. I would've done the same thing in their shoes. It's all Robert Cecil's fault. I HATE HIM! ^My mom ^ My step-father Robert Dudley ^My wife and son
