About Me

Now Playing - "Learn" (Original Mix by PHASE)

I grew up listening to Public Enemy, The Beastie Boys, Run DMC, Techmaster P.E.B. and Dynamix. From Newport Beach, California to West Palm Beach, Florida, PHASEs influences ranged from the hard core rap of N.W.A. to the concussive Miami Bass sounds of DJ Magic Mike. Before I had a license to drive, I was installing sound systems in cars that were blowing the windows out. Just one of the hazards of growing up on South Floridas East Coast.
I remember listening to Young American Primitive in an old movie theater in Cocoa Beach, Florida in 1993. The club was called MARZ. A girl comes up to me with a hospital mask coated with Vicks Vapor Rub, sticks a blow pop in my mouth and gives me the biggest hug I had ever gotten. I had never heard music quite like this before. Nor had I ever felt such love from total strangers. The beats were banging. The visuals were excellent. The vibe was epic. I was hooked
It wasnt long after my experience in Cocoa Beach, that I bought my first keyboard and began learning MIDI and mixing records in my parents garage. I began pushing my DJ career in 1996. My main influences at the time were artists such as Freaky Chakra, The Bassbin Twins and DJ Icey. In 1997 and 1998 I went on tour across the U.S. opening up for The Chemical Brothers and also separately with Run DMC. I slowly developed a taste for trance after attending some shows featuring Sasha and John Digweed. I began playing many shows around North America with such talent as Moby, The Crystal Method, Uber Zone and Cosmic Baby, just to name a few. My residencies in Orlando included The Club at Firestone, The House of Blues, Zinc Bar, Level 3, Knock Knock, AKA Lounge, Cyberzone, Fluid and Volcano.
I like to be in control of my own destiny, if that makes any sense I cant have some artist manager trying to tell me what kind of music to play at any particular venue and then taking half of my pay I have always been a bit of a rebel I guess. I am very passionate about the music I play. After all, isnt that what defines a DJ? Its not the music that someone thinks people at a particular club want to hear. Its the track selection that DJ makes and the way in which he or she programs it, that defines that DJ
In 2002, I met DJ Villo through mutual friend Michael York who is a well known promoter in Orlando, Florida. We hit it off immediately. Villo runs the Balance Record Pool which was started by Chris Fortier of Fade Records. He turned me on to an ever emerging style of House music called Tech House, which is the style I still play today.
In 2003, I relocated to Sarasota, Florida to persue a commercial real estate career which has now provided the financial backing for my musical endeavors. My residencies in Sarasota have included Club Envy, Fly, Octave and presently 1266 Blu Lounge on Siesta Key, an island off the coast of Sarasota. I am in the process of producing of a full length album release under the name Digital DNA, who is the collaboration of myself and long time friend, DJ Relevant. There will be gritty analogue, pounding bass drums and punk rock, rap vocals Stay tuned for updates and links to streaming music and downloads. The album release scheduled for winter 2006.
I am also a commercial real estate syndicator. I seek out prime waterfront real esate to develop and then bring in the players to make the project a reality. I have only been doing this for two years now, but just closed a deal to develop 640 units on the water in St. Pete Beach, Florida. I've got a 2 other large beachfront parcels available. If anyone is interested, contact me.

"I like to be in control of my own destiny, if that makes any sense... I try not to conform to any single genre, although HOUSE is my favorite. I feel out the crowd and then choose a format that I think fits. It's a fine balance, playing what you like and pleasing the crowd simultaneously. I am very passionate about the music that I play.
