I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I'm a mystery writer. Thanks for stopping by MySpace. The best place to find out more about Roman Noir and the world of my novel, Nox Dormienda, is my website.

My Interests

Most writers will tell you they have to write...it's like an obsessive-compulsive disorder you get to share with the world. ;) I like to do other things, too ... watch classic films, travel, get out in nature and breathe, and take walks along the foggy San Francisco beaches.

I'd like to meet:

Readers, Writers, Film Noir Fans, and the man who invented bourbon.

Music:

Jazz, baby, jazz. Mainly classic jazz from the big band through the cool era. Sarah Vaughan, Duke Ellington, Nancy Wilson, Chet Baker, Louis Armstrong--I love 'em all.

Movies:

Casablanca. '30s musicals. A few silents that were so beautifully filmed they did the talking in your head. And lots and lots of film noir...my favorite genre. I've got a list of my own top 25 favorites on my website.

Television:

TV--well, unsurprisingly if you've read this far, I like the old stuff. Twilight Zone, The Dick Van Dyke Show, Star Trek, The Avengers, I Love Lucy...and when I have a cold, I gravitate toward Fantasy Island. I can't help myself.

Books:

Raymond Chandler is my greatest influence and my favorite writer. Hammett, of course. Hemingway. Fitzgerald. Some Golden Age mystery writers ... Christie, Sayers. Shakespeare, a lot of classics, Jane Austen, and Thomas Hardy. And a bunch of current authors, mainly in noir, thriller and crime fiction.

Heroes:

Elizabeth II and Winston Churchill. And Batman.
