Tim Wood was born in 1987. He started on the piano aged 6 and began flute aged 10. Neither instrument inspired him to play the music that he wanted, and soon a chance to play drums in a group came up. He grabbed the oppurtunity and began to study the drums. His main interest was initially Gospel Music and eventually this led him becoming aware of Jazz and Fusion players. Drummers such as Dave Weckl, Omar Hakim, Steve Smith, Steve Gadd, Vinnie Colaiuta, Gary Chaffee were and are the main inspirations. After visiting New York City and checking out the Jazz scene, Tim came home with lots of inspiration and his enthusiasm for jazz grew.Thanks for reading and hope to see you on the road!!
