SERENADES start as a solo project. His mind, Valerio Capsoni, creates at the end of 1995 two songs, "The Silent Beauty" and "Your Winter Garden". In January 1996, at the Music Day Studio, these songs become "THE SILENT BEAUTY" Demo. At this time the monicker it's SERENADE, but in Scotland there is a band with the same name, then the monicker changes and become SERENADES. The style it's much Gothic-oriented, in line with the british scene. In September of the same year, SERENADES sign a contract with the new label Elegy Records, and in December return at Music Day Studio, where Valerio Capsoni (vocals, guitars, bass and keyboards) and Maurizio Caltanissetta (drums), with the production of Marco Saitta and Massimo De Pasquale, give form at one of the most important gothic-doom albums ever produced in Italy: "THE AGE OF PURITY". Seven songs of great music for this style fans and not only. The album exit (1997) obtains a considerable success in the underground, specially among Anathema, My Dying Bride and Paradise Lost fans, in Europe and in the rest of the world. After three years, always for Elegy Records, Valerio Capsoni returns in recording room, this time at Petit Studio, and with the production and cooperation (drums) of Gianfranco Strano, carries out the second SERENADES album: "IONIA". Eight songs who constitute the evolution in a more direct form of the dark feeling pulsating in SERENADES music. An electronical side-project, "Leave in silence", follows the exit of the album. After some years of silence, and a "THE AGE OF PURITY" reissue (2003) for the russian market, a new album, "FATHER", celebrates the SERENADES return. With this album SERENADES become a real band. Ten new songs of very suggestive gothic-doom, with this current line-up: Valerio Capsoni (vocals, guitars and bass), Marco Garro (keyboards), Fabio Monaco (guitars) and Dario Casabona (drums). This album, recorded at Sound Empathy Studio by Fabio Monaco, is dedicated to the memory of Cesare Capsoni, first SERENADES fan.
