NO HOPE, NO FEAR

About Me

I believe in the continuity of "mind", of cause and effect-- on a non-physical plane as well as the material, and that energy--which constitutes everything in the universe-- is neither created nor destroyed. There is only our own "mind": the inherent essence which is the nature of reality... unborn and unceasing, luminous clarity which is both empty (beyond characteristics) and embued with resonating concern for life in all its precious forms. I consider myself a scientist whose project is to not only understand this vital essence of Truth, but BECOME it. And by becoming it, abandon all reason and intellect and just BE, as is. I practice letting go as a religion and muster every molecule of energy to continuously remember to simply relax into the Nature of Mind...Truth's essence. As this endeavor continues and the worlds spins frenetically off axis, I take deep breaths, and return to my HEART so I can be of some use to all helpless sentient beings.

"Grasping is the source of all our problems. Since impermanence to us spells anguish, we grasp on to things desperately, even though all things change. We are terrified of letting go, terrified, in fact, of living at all, since learning to live is learning to let go. And this is the tragedy and the irony of our struggle to hold on: Not only is it impossible, but it brings us the very pain we are seeking to avoid. The intention behind grasping may not in itself be bad; there’s nothing wrong with the desire to be happy, but what we try to grasp on to is by nature ungraspable." ++Sogyal Rinpoche

Love & Attachment

I realized it was about time for me to write another one of these. When my mind went to what to write about it went immediately to love. I've spent my summer completely immersed in it. After a spring...

BEYOND FACING OURSELVES

Once we decide to look at ourselves, we may experience ourselves as wretched, in the most profoundly degrading situations, or some of us may have brilliant and good situations happening, too. Whatever...

ENLIGHTENMENT IS POSSIBLE

I am not a big believer in the necessity of self expression since I think 'self' is really a sham so why bother reinforcing that lie to anyone let alone yourself. Actually I can safely say that the si...

Be the stronghold of truth

In a sense everything is dreamlike and illusory, but even so, humorously you go on doing things. For example, if you are walking, without unnecessary solemnity or self-consciousness, lightheartedly wa...

the absense of struggle is freedom

Not so insurmountable

Above all else, we need to nourish our true self-- what we can call our buddha nature--for so often we make the fatal mistake of identifying with our confusion, and then using it to judge and condemn ...
