I love to visit new places, meet new people, and learn new things. I lived abroad for a couple years, and I hope do some more international traveling in the not-too-distant future. In the meantime, I'm content to satisfy my wanderlust by taking frequent weekend roadtrips to California or Arizona, and I often spend weekday afternoons riding around in the mountains/canyons here in the Vegas valley.
When I'm not out wandering, I'm likely to be found curled up with a book, watching a movie, meandering through an art gallery, working out at the gym, or, if I'm feeling particularly energetic, hiking or climbing at Red Rock.
Photography has been my on-and-off hobby for many years, though I've been lacking for subject matter since I moved back to Vegas. I miss photo opportunities like these:
I'm pretty easy to get along with once you get to know me; and I have friends and acquaintences from many different places, cultures, and backgrounds. I don't always gravitate towards people with similar tastes and interests, as I like to meet people who can show me new things and broaden my horizons. Always happy to talk to anyone with depth, character, and good stories to tell.
Genres: Primarily Goth, Industrial, 80s, and Darkwave, but I can listen to pretty much anything but hard rap.Bands: Depeche Mode, The Sisters of Mercy, Front 242, VNV Nation, London After Midnight, Funker Vogt, Icon of Coil, The Cruxshadows, Chiasm, Christian Death, The Cocteau Twins, Lacrimosa, Lacuna Coil, The Merry Thoughts, Nitzer Ebb, Oingo Boingo, The Pet Shop Boys, The Smiths, Culture Kultur, The Police, Qntal, Rammstein, Love Like Blood, Dead Can Dance, The Damned, Apoptygma Berzerk, Dead or Alive, Die Form, Haujobb, The Mission UK, Metallica, New Order, Information Society, Erasure, Inkubus Sukkubus, Clan of Xymox, The Cult, Voltaire, Wolfsheim, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Razed in Black, Switchblade Symphony, Shriekback, and many, many others.
Compiling a comprehensive list of my favorite films would be entirely too space and time consuming. I can find something I like in just about every genre, and can appreciate quality direction, acting, cinematography, and overall production even if the plot, themes, or settings generally wouldn't appeal to me.
I gave up watching TV a few years ago, and have never looked back...
I'll read and probably thoroughly enjoy anything that's put in front of me, particularly dark fantasy, anything set in the medieval period, a good amount of scifi, poetry, philosophy, history, etc.
