"Nothing like a bad decision says who you are."

About Me

Fred Jackson is a singer/songwriter from Cleveland, Ohio currently performing as a solo acoustic act, as a member of "THE NEW CENTURY BEATNIKS", and as a part-time member of "THE CLEVELAND BOYS". Fred was a member of "THE MILLIONAIRES", a Cleveland favorite in the late 80's and early 90's. Freddie (as he prefers to be called) says "...,if it was loud and there was a lot of drinking going on, chances are it was us." After some time off, Lou LaGuardia decided for Freddie that it was time he started playing again. Lou, being very helpful, went ahead and booked a gig for the two of them even though they had never played together. Thus "JUNK" was born. Two good singers, one guitar, a lot of mayhem! Freddie adds "...,it was sort of like Simon and Garfunkel with a sledgehammer...and drinks!" "THE NEW CENTURY BEATNIKS" specialize in music from the 60's and 70's with emphasis on "one hit wonders" of that era. The band performs as a three piece and as a five piece. "...,this is much quieter, I suspect the drinking thing is still going on though." He says. "THE CLEVELAND BOYS" features music from the 80's through today. This band includes former members of local Cleveland favorite "LOVE AFFAIR" and "THE MILLIONAIRES". "It's loud again...sometimes you just have to be loud and have a drink or two!." Freddie's solo performances include original material and alternative music of today. These performances are few and far between. "Most people don't realize what a great voice he has . It really doesn't show through until you see him during an acoustic set."Freddie released a CD in 2000 titled "SHADES OF GRAY" comprising 9 original songs written by Freddie as well as a remake of "Baby Blue" by Badfinger, and "Hey Bulldog" by the Beatles. Freddie received extensive airplay on college radio and his music is still available on I-Tunes as well as other internet sites. This CD was produced by Cleveland native and guitar hero Billy Sullivan and mixed by Rich Spina at "Rich's Basement Studio".
