RADIOTRON_36: “SpaceWalk SoundTrackâ€
After years of experimenting with a fusion of sounds, samples and assorted instruments, Radiotron_36 has decided to move on.
R_36 has determined that it is time to envision new projects. Before this exit, Radiotron_36 is pleased to release “SpaceWalk SoundTrack†for your download and listening pleasure.
“SpaceWalk SoundTrack†is the legend of Astronaut Earl Maxwell, his love for space, the future and the desire to save our planet. As disease, oil prices, incompetent politicians and terrorism continues to plague Earth, Maxwell receives Top Secret Orders to voyage into space and seek help from the Aliens for they are the keepers of the resolve that we are all seeking.
To assist Maxwell on his journey he brings along the one thing that will get him through this hazardous undertaking: his Apple iPod. This iPod contains what the International Space Agency has deemed “SW/ST†or “SpaceWalk SoundTrackâ€. These tracks, produced exclusively by Radiotron_36 for Maxwell and the “ISAâ€, will take him from “TheLiftOff†(the first single, released 12.11.07) to each of challenges he will face on the mission and his anticipated homecoming.
Will the Aliens from the far corners of space be welcoming?
Will they provide the direction we as a civilization are in dire need of?
Or will this contact lead to the demise of our failing planet?
Only Commander Earl Maxwell can save us!
So, fasten your seat belts, sit back, relax and enjoy the ride. This is the final frontier.
Oh and by the way:
Mr. Steve Jobs 1 Infinite Loop Cupertino, CA 95014
Steve:
Please feel free to include a RADIOTON_36 track in any of your new Apple iPod 2008 Television Campaigns. We'd really like that!
Thanks, R_36
About RADIOTRON_36
Conceived at the end of 2004, Radiotron_36 envisioned what the musical landscape might look like in the year 2020. Combining guitars, synthesizers and Theremin with unique samples designed their own exclusive sound. R_36 continued to produce track after track tirelessly. Fans began listening WORLDWIDE.
The approach to track making is somewhat similar to that of Germany’s Kraftwerk; the tracks were simply a sub-section of a bigger, overall theme. 2005 gradually became the busiest year for R_36 as they released 20 tracks never disappointing the listener's mind.
“The Internet is an amazing promoter of music, especially for new and experimental projects like Radiotron_36â€, explains Tron after being asked about his thoughts regarding music and the internet. “I think that this is only the beginning of what immense power this will bring in the years to comeâ€.
R_36’s breakthrough was the InterCity Express EP released on April 1, 2005. “TravisB/Taxi Driver†painted the listener into the masterpiece of Martin Scorsese and the character played by Robert De Niro. The mysterious and haunting “NOSEBLEED†delivered the sinister aspects of cocaine abuse and finality. Kraftwerk's Trans-Europe Express inspired “InterCity Expressâ€. This track accelerated you 175 mph through the German countryside from Hamburg to Munich.
“The Radiotron Lounge†EP was the high point of 2005 as R_36 began to draw comparisons to mentors like Thievery Corporation and Kraftwerk. Soon after the release, Start Mobile (www.startmobile.net/m60) contacted R_36 to make the track “Plainsong Nuovo†a ringtone. Start Mobile is the first company to ever offer ringtones from emerging independent artists. “Knowing that people are sporting a R_36 track for a ringtone is incredibleâ€, says Tron.
Exhausted from the excitement of 2005, R_36 delayed the next release until 2006, but did give listeners a taste by offering “Mars†and “Homeâ€. “Mars†quickly became a listener favorite. “We received many emails regarding “Mars†as a personal favorite, almost as many as “TravisB/Taxi Driverâ€, Tron says.
2006 was serene compared to 2005 for R_36. April 2006 did see the release of “Static Planets†which contained the political-war infused “March On†and the alien themed “Static Planetsâ€. And then, nothing.
At this point Tron began spending most of his waking hours producing tracks for international television programs, advertising and motion pictures. Not wanting R_36 to become a distant memory, Tron considered what should be next for the experimental project. The process of absorbing samples, metrical beats, and guitars became the focal point as summer changed to autumn. Recording soon commenced, a preview of the session posted on MySpace and then 2006 came to an end.
In 2007 R_36 offered the listeners “ElectroROCK!!!†This was a change from previous R_36 tracks as it took a more traditional approach to the track creation process. However, it is still the “thematic electronic noise with intensity and meaning†that the listeners have become familiar with over the years. “You will definitely recognize it is R_36â€, asserts Tron. “You will hear more guitars, both electric and acoustic, thrown into the mix.â€
The first track, “Burned Out Cinder†looked at the state of our world today and the adverse consequences we will all face should we “stay the courseâ€. This was followed by “Welcome to Lakehurstâ€: a sobering look back at the Hindenburg and the tragic events that took place on May 6, 1937. “FearNoEvil†relived events from 9/11 from Bush’s perspective.
During 2007 R_36 could also be found on the "We Push Buttons" e-comp v.1 ("Plainsong Nuovo") as well as the "Machines Against Hunger" CD for the Action Against Hunger International Network ("Burned Out Cinder"). R_36 was featured with over 30 bands from all around the globe including, Japan, Italy, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, England, Australia, Greece, Argentina, Canada and the U.S.!!
R_36 will release “SpaceWalk SoundTrack†on 01.01.08. This release will be their LAST. “I never fully prepared myself for the interest and success of Radiotron_36. It is important that R_36 goes out on topâ€, explains Tron. He plans on “retiring†to his home in the Hollywood Hills, but still plans on producing tracks for international entertainment and media industries for years to come. “Or I may just move to New Zealand and start a “Split Enz†cover band, that would be cool tooâ€, Tron smiles. Yes, it would.
As always:
Take the time to listen. Don’t you want the Aliens to think that you are all the rage when they finally come to visit us here on Earth?
