Some stuff I like, in no particular order whatsoever: Vintage of almost any sort, museums - art and history, old dusty photos or postcards, 1920s in particular but other past decades as well, music, ebay, art, silent films, stained glass, drawing, painting and sketching (When I remember how), pomegranates, morbid humor, my grandmother's stories of the old days, collecting things (Some for the memories attached, some for history, very little for value, and some just because they're pretty), random objects that I've kept for reasons even I don't remember, antique shops, flea markets, vintage clothing shops, Old La Vie Parisienne art, Edward Gorey, Albrecht Dürer, Chéri Hérouard, Gerda Wegener, Harry Clarke, Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood paintings, book covers, Eddie Izzard, old buildings (deserted or not), cats, MINI Coopers, dark chocolate, candy cigarettes, thinking happy thoughts for survival, extra crunchy peanut butter, sleeping, triplets, twins, kittie paws (still attached, obviously... you creep), ice cream, sugar gliders, snails, slugs, tattoos, fireflies (they turn to pennies, you know), words that sound nice together, normal conversations that end up in strange places, sudden moments of feeling alive, smiling to myself, smiling with someone else, understanding, discovering, blah blah blah, I don't know... stuff.
The "would/should/could have" been me.
Itunes is constantly running on my computer. To be extremely specific, mainly The Damned and some Damned related (Phantom Chords, Naz Nomad), Captain Sensible, The Cure, Stiffs Inc., Umbrella Brigade, Marc Bolan and T-Rex, Voltaire (& The Oddz), Creature Feature, Buddy Holly, Stolen Babies, Lee Presson, The Epoxies, Oingo Boingo, Dresden Dolls, The Killers and...
Very difficult, this one. Silents and old movies in general, but mostly by actor/actress rather than genre. I like: Lon Chaney Sr., Conrad Veidt, Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd, Charlie Chaplin, Marx Brothers, Louise Brooks, Claude Rains, Bette Davis, Udo Kier, Christopher Walken, Vincent Price, Johnny Depp, Alan Rickman... and so on and so forth. Also, different horror, vampire and zombie films... I love movies. Odds are, if I'm sat in front of a film for too long, I'll watch it... better judgement or not.
*sigh* I'm tired now. Uh, not much really. Television's bad, I very rarely turn on the thing. Except to watch the odd dvd every so often: Blackadder, The Young Ones, The New Statesman, House MD, The Riches, Spongebob Squarepants, Turner Classic Movies at almost any time, but especially late at night, Bottom, Cartoon Planet, PBS, Discovery and History channel if I find some time... Gee, some of these are even current!
I'd love to have the time to read books again. I miss it. Gormenghast Trilogy, Edward Gorey, Lemony Snicket, Gris Grimly, "Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy," biographies, some things I probably wouldn't admit to... Previously, Rat Scabies and the Holy Grail, by Christopher Dawes. Currently, Barry Paris' Louise Brooks biography, but it's so difficult to find reading time anymore... Sigh. "
I don't know, but I envy those with "everyday" strength.
My mother... She had strength that I could never even begin to imagine, and she must have inherited it from my Grandmother. Apparently, it ran dry before it got to me.
