Adam Halomhegyi

I was born in 1987,in Székesfehérvár,Hungary.I started to play bass at the age of 14,being influenced by Cliff Burton of Metallica,Mike Dirnt(Green Day),Sam Rivers(Limp Bizkit) and Fieldy(KORN)(it sounds a bit funny,isnt it?)Later, I've started to broaden my musical horizon,the next big influence for me was the grunge era and its groups,especially Pearl Jam,Alice in Chains and Soundgarden (and Ben Sheperd,obviously) this time I found interest in progressive music too, and I discovered TOOL(and still highly recommend it for everyone) - which I regard as the best rock band of all the time - King Crimson,Pink Floyd,Led Zeppelin,King's X,A Perfect Circle,an other influence was stoner/southern rock and bands like Down,Kyuss,COC,QOTSA.When I was about sixteen I wanted to learn bass seriously,since I was selfthought,this led me to jazz and fusion and of course listening and playing jazz.I discovered a whole new world when I put Jaco's first record on.I listened(and still listen) Miles Davis,John Coltrane,Charles Mingus,Wayne Shorter,Charlie Parker,Chet Baker and many others.My favourite bass players are GARY WILLIS and VICTOR BAILEY,not to forget Jaco..I really like Marcus Miller,Me'shell Ndegéocello,Richard Bona,Pino Palladino and Marcello Giuliani(the bassist with Erik Truffaz),just to name a few.On upright bass my favourites are:Paul Chambers,Niels-Henning Örsted Pedersen and Scott La Faro.Since 2006,I've been learning at the Dr. Gyula Lauschmann Jazz Conservatory, I play in the trio of my friend,Daniel Vízer,and beside well known jazz standards we do our own music too,it's full of electronics and crazy,drum'n'bass inspired rhytms and grooves.Since January 2007,I've been playing with a stoner rock group called 86 with János Szántó,the most kickass rock guitarist of our country:)
