Lion Pride. YAY! BAND

About Me

The Leander Band is a team whose success through goal achievement is attributed to its unconditional pride and devotion to the program.
The Leander Band is looking forward to a new year and higher expectations then last year. The field show for 2008 is entitled "Into the City" and everyone is very excited to hopefully take Leander back to State.
In the 2007-2008 marching band season the Leander Band made it's first BOA Regional Finals in 4 years. Also the Leander Band received 1st place at the USSBA Hendrickson marching festival.
The band has a long history of honors: Texas State Honor Band (1994); participated in the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California (1996); Bands of America Regional Champion (1996); Bands of America Grand National Finalist (1999); Bands of America Regional Finalist (1995, 2000, 2002, 2003 and 2007); Texas 5A State Marching Finalist 9 times; Lone Star Preview Marching Contest in The Woodlands, Texas (2001 – 2nd Place, 2002 – 1st place, 2003 - 2nd place, 2005- 3rd place).
The Leander High School Lion Marching Band maintains a long and proud tradition of excellence in musical performance and presentation, both on and off the field of competition. The Pride of Lion Country has, through the determination and talents of directors and students alike, brought both national and international recognition to Leander High School and the Leander Independent School District.Ranked among the top high school music programs in Texas, the Band consistently strives for and achieves top honors and awards in marching and concert competitions. This dedication and determination, combined with extremely high levels of musical talent and academic achievement, has resulted in numerous Band students continuing on to higher levels of music education. Each year, the Leander Band places a disproportionately large number of students in the highest levels of University Interscholastic League competitions as well as the National Honor Society.Leander High School's Lion Marching Band has garnered an impressive list of awards over years for its musical and performance quality. A true high school show band, this group of dedicated, determined, and talented students take pride in performing some of the most musically intricate and technically difficult pieces available for marching bands.
