The Woodlands High School Band is under the direction of Brett Johnson with assistance from Wayne Downey, Chris Allen, Joni Viertel Perez, Andy Salmon, Chad Berkstresser, and Jon Vanderkolff. The Woodlands marching band has been a BOA regional finalist at every event they've competed against in the past 12 years. The Woodlands marching band is also proud to be a two time Texas State Marching Contest finalist and a Grand Nationals finalist. The band has performed at the BOA national concert band festival and the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago. The Woodalnds Band has won the UIL sweepstakes award for the last 11 years. Winterguards at The Woodlands have won state championships and the 2004 Scholastic Open Class World Championship. In 2005 The Woodlands band was invited to perform at the Western International Band and Orchestra Convention in Seattle, Washington. In 2006 The Woodlands High School Marching Band was announced Class AAA National Champions at BOA Grand Nationals. This past year, The Woodlands took third place at Super Regionals in San Antonio and fourth in the nation at BOA Grand Nationals in november. In 2007, The Woodlands placed third at Super Regionals in San Antonio and took fourth place overall at BOA Grand Nationals with their show titled Sequenza.
