I used to want to change the world. Now I just want to leave the room with a little dignity.

About Me

Earliest musical memories? My Mum's huge collection of 45s. My favourites were Susan Cadogan's Hurt So Good, Middle Of The Road's Chirpy, Chirpy, Cheap Cheap and Michael Jackson's Rocking Robin. I'd play these three records over and over again.
First record bought with your own money? I bought three at once. Blondie's Atomic, Too Nice To Talk To by The Beat and Talk Of The Town by The Pretenders.
First gig? UB40-London 1982 (don't laugh, they were really good back then!)
Record that changed your life? Erm...that's a tough one. I do recall being fairly overwhelmed by The Smiths' How Soon Is Now. I played that record every day for over a month back when it was released. Seeing The Specials perform Do Nothing on Top Of The Pops had a huge effect on me too.
Favourite sort of music? I love it all really. Depends on my mood. Always partial to some 70s reggae. I also still listen to alot of the early 80s post-punk records I loved as a teen. Can never go wrong with something by Curtis Mayfield or Paul Weller.
Name five LPs you couldn't live without? Well at the moment it's...London Hooligan Soul-The Ballistic Brothers, Cut-The Slits, Solid Gold-Gang of Four, Wha'ppen-The Beat and The People Tree by Mother Earth. Most of my favourite musicians made better singles than they did albums.
What was the last song you recall listening to? I've got Kanye West's Flashing Lights on in the background.
What sort of music do you play? It's all over the place. A mash-up of genres. Over 30 years worth of British, American and West Indian influences. Funk, reggae, soul, disco, house and early punk records. You'll hear a bit of everything thats led me to where I am today.
