Bio
Sacriment* was founded in September 2005 in Petawawa Ontario, when guitarists Bob Hollywood and Mike Gagné (long time friends and high school jamm'n buddies) were reunited after a 2 year college hiatus.
Bob and Mike moved to Ottawa in August 2006 joined by long time friends Derek Gagnon and Nick Lague. Derek and Nick had been living in Kingston at the time to attend college. The trio of Bob, Mike and Nick were no strangers of playing music together. Back in 2001, before going away to college, the dynamic trio then know as "Archangel", were busy getting their first taste of the Metal rush* playing their favorite covers of the time in the likes of Metallica, Megadeth and Nirvana (to name a few)
It had been their shared dream to one day live together as friends and as a band to see what could come of it. They spent the first year of living together writing their first three original songs, Chains of Insomnia, Tainted Visions and Gravedigger.
With little persuation the boys were able to recruit Natasha Bartlett (a new addition to the circle of friends) as the new lead vocalist, exactly one year after first moving to Ottawa. Several months afterwards James Scott (Nick's college friend) joined Sacriment as their bass player...
The lineup is finally complete!
With the excitement of now being able to play a few radically challenging songs like Lamb of God's - Hourglass and Arch Enemy's - Burning Angel (to name a few), and the additions of James and Natasha, the band managed to add 5 more original songs to their set. They were even able to keep Derek busy by putting his expertise to good use in making him official band website administrator.
Sacriment is now entering it's next evolutionary step by making themselves known publicly. The band's official website will be up and running soon. The songs are getting their final coat of polish and Sacriment will be show ready by the end of Summer 2007.
If you're a fan of LOUD, HEAVY, new, original metal that brings about involuntary headbang'n journeys... Come support SACRIMENT when they come play your area.

* Sacriment: as a band name, spawns from 2003, the years when Mike was living in Peterborough for college with friend and drummer Ryan Whyte, whom to this day remains a good friend of the band and is persuing his own musical carreer in the GTA (his band's name to be announced once given permission)
* Metal rush: the chill up the spine one gets when a riff is played tightly with his fellow musicians.
