The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

About Me

I was transplanted here, in Englewood, Florida when I was about to turn 16 originally born in Jersey City, New Jersey. Honestly, I didn't know what to think about this place at first. Everybody was so nice, simple and polite back then that it kind of threw me off for a while. It was very strange to me and I did not handle it well. Normally, I was used to hostile rude people, sarcastic remarks and witty insults living in the New York area, and I was in shock. I did some stupid things back in the day that I am not exactly proud of by way of how I acted. I had a very large chip on my shoulder but thank God I at least began to grow up as many do not. After living between New York/New Jersey, Orlando and Southern California for some years, I finally realized I was missing out on the paradise that was right under my nose all along, the beautiful blue and tropical waters of southwest Florida. I do admit that in reality, this is a bit of a culturally deficient area, but the pure untouched paradise that underlies it is enough to make me never want to leave, not for good anyway. I lived the city life...never again. I am against drugs in general and do not use them. I however do not judge anyone for what they do so long as it harms no one else and even though I do not use it, I believe marijuana should be legalized. Truely, all drugs should all be legalized to a point. Powders have killed some of my friends over the years, but I still think if someone wants to waste themselves, they should be allowed to do so. I see pot as no threat to anyone. I have never seen anyone smoke a blunt and then go on an insane rampage killing anything with the exception of a bag of Doritos. I love dancing and the beach more than anything. Jetskiing is really fun, too. The summer and 90+ degrees suits me just fine. I am a huge Miami Dolphins(yes, I am aware of how rough it is to be one of those right now, but not for long), comic and Star Wars fanatic since I have had consistent memory. Batman, Wolverine, the Joker, Luke Skywalker and every Miami Dolphin have always been my childhood heroes. I want to enjoy life as much as I can and I am just as comfortable at a club as I am chillin' out playing video games or watching a movie. I am pretty laid back and enjoy the company of real people. Fortunately, this area has many good and very real people. My family is important to me, and I am not phony with anyone, ever. Obviously, the environment and wildlife are of great importance to me. The pictures in my paradise album are from about 40 yards from my parent's front door...and I would like it to stay that way. If you would like to know me better, just write me. I will give anyone a chance and my heart is where it belongs...where everyone can see it. Everyone who knows me, knows this.

My Interests

I love the ocean and the beach is huge in my life. It gives me energy just to wade in the water and soak up the sun. Dancing has always been something that is a part of who I am and I have always felt music. I enjoy rollerblading and jetskis are fun. I am spiritual. I do believe in God but I am not fanatical. For me, God is love and it is just that simple. I take martial arts(Jujitsu)and become more active every day. I love all animals, nature and wildlife. Disney, Universal Studios and Sea World are among some my favorite places on Earth. I write, live and speak from my heart.

I'd like to meet:

I am cool with most people. I get along well with people who have a shred of common sense. If this is a question based on what type of girl I would like to meet, I would have to say one that adores me, is intelligent, beautiful, loving, sweet, caring, and not completely insane. Someone who doesn't necessarily have to flaunt her beauty to be confident with me and our relationship as I would never lie, hurt her or cheat on her. Someone who is not afraid of the warm rain, someone honest and true. One day I am hopeful that the right one will show her face and when she does, I will spend the rest of my life doing anything I can to make her happy as I hope she will do for me. When the right woman comes along and claims me, I will be her's alone for life. If this woman does actually exist...please raise your hand... I would like to meet some of the founders of Greenpeace who are my true heros. It is unfortunate that those amazing individuals aren't still in control of the once great organization. I am most unhappy with thier current actions, actually inaction. If the funds that were donated to Greenpeace were given to Sea Shepherd instead, there would be no whaling taking place anywhere, whatsoever. If I were independantly wealthy, I would do much more then I am now to help our world, and I would be doing anything possible to be a part of the crew aboard the "Steve Irwin" or the "Farley Mowhat". Unfortunately, I need a career for my future, and for the family I was planning to have one day.If you would be kind enough to watch the videos on the Sea Shepherd Society below, you will find hope that there are still good people in the world today. What the Japanese do to whales and the Canadians do to seals is just a taste compared to the slaughter and torture that we as humans do to the creatures of this planet as well as the environment every day, and you must realize that ALL creatures are part of our very fragile eco system. It has become more fragile than ever. I do cry every time I watch these images, but I choose to see it as well as video of animal testing and many other unspeakable acts of violence and destruction that our race commits. It is so easy for so many to turn it off. They pretend it does not exist or does not affect them. I do not believe in living life with blinders on. I would rather know and make an attempt to do something about it. If we do not start changing our ways and begin to repair things, we will see the death of our world from the repeated rape we have forced upon it. The biggest cancer I see in our society today is our indifference. So I ask you, no I beg you, please visit www.seashepherd.org and join the Seashepherd society today. Donate to a worthy cause. Help protect our oceans' wildlife and save our world one giant step at a time. Just look below. Our clock is ticking.

Music:

Music is a passion. I love Funk, Rap, Hip-hop, Regge, Soul, Blues, Techno, Ambient, Metal, Thrash, Punk, New Age, Old Rock, Classic Rock, Alternative, Industrial, Classical, Jazz...anything and everything but not much Country. I love Sade and the beach together, it makes life worth living. Some great R&B like Roy Ayers or Luther Vandross or Enigma or some progressive trance, any outdoor setting and hours of making love to the right woman would be nice, too.

Movies:

THIS IS SEA SHEPHERD

Television:

The Discovery, Science, History and Sci-fi channels are really all that interest me on TV besides Animal Planet. I do not have shows that I regularly watch. Who has the time for that? I would rather live my life. That does not mean I wouldn't enjoy quiet nights at home, cuddling on the couch watching movies. That is living. Of course I loved Steve Irwin, a great soul. Les Stroud...the original "Survivorman"...major respect. Anything documentary about current, past and possible future life here on Earth or anywhere else...SHARK WEEK RULES!

Books:

Have read many books, but who has the time anymore? By the time I was a teenager I had already read everything in the horror section(Steven King, Clive Barker, Dean Koontz, Wes Craven and anything else I could get my hands on)written for the prior ten or fifteen years at any Waldenbooks store in New York/New Jersey. Dante and Shakespeare's works are still masterpieces that stand the test of time. They have always inspired me. So have Frank Herbert's books on the epic "Dune". When a true writer writes, his/her heart pours out what is inside and it conveys so much more then speech ever could. "I will not fear.Fear is the mindkiller.Fear is the little death that brings total Oblivion.I will not permit my fear to pass over me and through me.And where it has gone I will turn the inner eye.Nothing will be there.Only I will remain." ---Frank Herbert .......Urge & Pressure Greenpeace To Work With Sea Shepherd! My friends, my main goal here on the web is not only to do whatever I can to raise global awareness but also to help bridge the gaps that lie between the different environmental & animal rights groups. I personally believe that this is the key to success in all our endeavors. We all need to start working together for the common goal & greater good. As there are so many issues facing us today, I am focusing with one issue at a time. I will convey information & help where I can with other issues as well, but I have chosen to start by placing my attention & energies on marine wildlife protection. The main reason for this has been my great love for whales & dolphins since childhood. The grace, beauty & vast intelligence of these creatures have always facinated me. The more that I learned about what we have been doing to them, the less I understood my own kind. The images that we see in pictures & on video are just a glimpse of the brutality mankind has to offer our loving & peaceful sea companions. The second reason I focus myself on marine wildlife first is because ALL life begins & began in the oceans. It is the basis for our eco-existance. No matter how you slice it, we are a destructive force to our world as well as ourselves. If this rape of our wildlife & our environment does not end soon, there will be no turning back for us & there will be nothing left for our children nor our children's children & so on. With that being said, I place full confidence in the belief in that were we all to get behind Captain Paul Watson that very soon these attrocities would come to a blinding hault globally. With limited funding the Sea Shepherd Society has disrupted Seal, Whale, Turtle, Shark & dolphin slaughter for quite some time. Thier efforts outweigh what Greenpeace does annually with just a small fraction in comparisson to their funding. I am calling on all my friends & urging them to put pressure on Greenpeace to use the vast funds at thier disposal to start a better philosophy of ACTION & working together with Captain Watson. The world's governments have sat idley by allowing the slaughter of marine life to continue for far too long even though laws exist to protect it. When this ends, & no more whales, dolphins or seals are being hunted, I will turn my full attention to the next issue. For now, I am asking eveyone to support the Captain by donataing & joining the Sea Shepherd Society at www.seashepherd.org today. Use everything in your power to push Greenpeace into taking a stand WITH the good captain! Bless you for your kindness to our animal friends & I thank you for your precious time in reading my words. All of you who have taught me so much about what is happening in our world today & what can be done to stop it, I thank you from my heart. Your strength in standing together in the face of brutality & indifference gives me hope.I love you all...Anthony Damiano...

Heroes:

My heroes are all the people that I love. Thank you for giving me reason and purpose to continue living. Without you, I would have been gone long ago. Batman for being fearful of nothing but himself. The Jedi Knights. Men like Robert Gould Shaw who were given everything and traded thier lives for a belief in what is right. Anthony Marr. Anyone in the service of animal rights and ecologic protection. A message to Captain Paul Watson...I, as well as so many appreciate your efforts and conviction. We love you.
Battleship Antarctica
Film Review by Captain Paul Watson
I finally got a chance to view the documentary Battleship Antarctica and it was indeed an educational experience..
This is a documentary about the Greenpeace voyage to the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary in 2006 and 2007. I highly recommend it..
The documentary answered a question that has been nagging me for years. Why does Greenpeace refuse to work in cooperation with Sea Shepherd?.
The answer was delivered quite plainly in this film. Quite simply they hate us and they expressed that hatred in no uncertain terms underscored with some very colourful expletives..
This documentary exposed many of the contradictions that have disillusioned so many with Greenpeace..
From a cook bragging about the 700 kilos of meat in the freezer of the Greenpeace ship Esperanza to the Captain confessing his irresponsible fathering of three children scattered he knows not where, to their refusal to accept the coordinates of the Japanese fleet from Sea Shepherd because, well, because Sea Shepherd gave it to them..
The documentary plays like a soap opera with a crew who seem more involved in a voyage of self realization and an adventure cruise than in the actual mission to defend and protect whales..
Throughout the documentary, Sea Shepherd appears as the force of confrontation with the Japanese whalers and the object of contempt by the Greenpeace crew. Sea Shepherd remains mysterious and portrayed as both effective and the real opposition to Japanese whaling as the Greenpeace crew deliberately refuse to cooperate with Sea Shepherd's request to work together to oppose whaling..
Whereas Greenpeace fruitlessly searches for the fleet despite the fact that Sea Shepherd has provided them with the coordinates, the Sea Shepherd crew are depicted as being everywhere the Japanese are – harassing them, chasing them and shutting down their whaling operations..
In one segment of the documentary Sara Holden, the Greenpeace media director contemptuously informs the film maker that she is in charge and in control although she worries about the way the film will be edited and as it turns out – with justification..
This film does not portray Greenpeace in a very good light although it does portray Greenpeace in a very accurate light..
Greenpeacers in the film seem to be obsessed with this old Quaker tradition of "bearing witness.
"
In fact it was amusing for me to listen to Karli Thomas say how Greenpeace had has this philosophy of bearing witness since 1971 (Before she was born) and how this philosophy of non-violence was the foundation of the values that Greenpeace stands for and that is the reason they cannot cooperate with Sea Shepherd..
I was there at the founding of Greenpeace as a co-founder and I participated in every single Greenpeace campaign from 1971 until 1977 and not once during that time did I ever hear of this thing called "bearing witness.
"
It is a revisionist philosophy of course and one that smacks of cowardice more than righteousness. Bearing witness to violence does not stop violence, it merely transforms an activist into an inactive spectator of brutality..
I cannot imagine walking down a street and seeing a woman being raped without intervening. I cannot imagine watching a child being molested without interfering. I cannot see myself bearing witness to a kitten or a puppy being kicked and stomped on the sidewalk without doing something to stop the violence and I cannot imagine taking pictures of dying whales and watching as the harpoons plunge into the backside of whales leaving them rolling in their own blood on the surface and doing --- nothing, except bearing witness..
What kind of new agey, sewagy, perverse logic is that?
Spending millions of dollars to voyage to the Southern Oceans to watch whales die is not progressive, positive or admirable in any way that I can fathom..
What I saw in that documentary was a boatload of hypocritical cowards sporting a holier than thou attitude that they, and they alone are the saviours of the whales and the planet..
A boatload of cussing, smoking, meat eating, whining irresponsible men and women who have found a comfortable niche to occupy and unlike Sea Shepherd volunteers, these people get paid to be ocean posers, making whale snuff flicks and pretending to save whales when in actual fact they only "bear witness" to the death of whales..
Since the day I left Greenpeace in June 1977, I have not seen a whale die. When Sea Shepherd arrives, the killing of whales stops, and even more noteworthy is the fact that in our entire history we have never injured a single person. That in my book is the definition of non-violent intervention – the saving of lives without causing harm..
By contrast Greenpeace perpetuates violence by allowing the deaths of the whales.
With Sea Shepherd – no one (whales included) dies and no one is hurt!
In the documentary, Greenpeace seems more concerned with the accident on the Nisshin Maru and the death of a whaler than they do for the deaths of thousands of whales. They actually shed tears for a whaler they do not know and did not see die yet not a tear is shed for the whales they witnessed dying..
I think the message of the documentary was summed up near the end when Emily Hunter, the daughter of Greenpeace founder Robert Hunter radioed the Esperanza from the bridge of the Sea Shepherd ship Robert Hunter to say how ashamed she was of the Greenpeacers on the ship and informed them that they were simply a sham..
They did not answer – after all, there was not much they could say..
All they could do was bear witness to her words..
WE AWAIT A PUBLIC RESPONSE FROM GREENPEACE.
The ocean will turn to red
This is a very sad video. In the coming months, the blue ocean of the Antarctic will turn to red . The six-ship whaling fleet will head to the Souther Ocean . 945 whales, including ten endangered fin whales, will be killed - unless we do something to save them.
GREENPEACE IF YOU ASK FOR SUPPORT FUNDS TO SAVE WHALES THEN PERHAPS IT WOULD BE A GREAT IDEA TO SAVE WHALES YA THINK!
TWO GREAT MEN TOGETHER..THEY SHARE THE SAME DREAM..ONE CONTINUES. LET US FOREVER KEEP THE DREAM OF PAUL WATSON AND ROBERT HUNTER ALIVE.
Commentary by Paul Watson
Sea Shepherd Conservation Society..
The Greenpeace Foundation has announced that they will not be returning to Antarctica at the end of the year to oppose illegal Japanese whaling activities..
It is my intention to harass Greenpeace, goad them, and embarrass them until they agree to reconsider and announce that they will be returning..
Why? Because the whales need all the help they can get and the Greenpeace ships with their banner waving and ocean posing photo-op tactics get media attention..
Sea Shepherd Conservation Society is a much smaller organization and we simply can’t afford the million-dollar public relations budget that Greenpeace spends to publicize their campaigns..
We will do our thing which will be to intimidate the whale pirates into leaving the Whale Sanctuary and given a fast enough boat we will certainly do that..
Secondly, Greenpeace has raised a great deal of money on the issue of illegal whaling in the Southern Oceans. They continue to raise money with paid ads, door-to-door solicitation, street canvassing, and other fund-raising avenues. If people are going to give Greenpeace money to oppose whaling then they have a moral obligation to spend that money for the purpose that it is given..
With the announcement by Shayne Rattenbury of Greenpeace that they will not be sending their ships back to the Southern Ocean, Greenpeace has effectively betrayed the whales and they have also betrayed all those people who have contributed to the cause of protecting the whales..
So, in addition to working to secure a faster ship to return to Antarctica, Sea Shepherd intends to provoke Greenpeace into reconsidering their decision to not return to Antarctica..
I am confident that Sea Shepherd can stop illegal Japanese whaling without Greenpeace’s help. In fact, it might be easier without Rattenbury, Shallhorn, and company constantly attacking our tactics through the media..
However, I believe that strength lies in diversity, and the more diverse the opposition, the stronger the pressure..
Despite a constant barrage of criticism from Greenpeace when our ship was off the coast of Antarctica, Sea Shepherd did not retaliate. We held our tongues because Greenpeace was working for the same goal as Sea Shepherd – to shut down the whalers..
Or were they?
Because to continue to collect donations to protect the whales after announcing that they will not be returning suggests that they may well be exploiting the issue for no other reason than to raise funds..
The Japanese had banners of their own and one of them said that Greenpeace is a sham and another said that Greenpeace is misleading the public. If Greenpeace does not return to the Antarctic Whale Sanctuary in December they will have demonstrated that the Japanese accusations are justified..
With the announcement that they have abandoned the whales, I will no longer be silent about what Greenpeace is doing, or more accurately, not doing..
Once they change their mind I will refrain from any further criticism..
Greenpeace has raised far more money from their campaigns to “protect” the whales than they have spent. If they do not return they will be simply pocketing a profit from their publicity campaign..
There is a third reason that I want Greenpeace to return to Antarctica. As one of the co-founders of what is now a big mean green corporate machine, I would like to see Greenpeace continue with the campaigns that brought them fame and fortune – the campaigns to save the whales..
I was there in 1975 when Greenpeace had little money and lots of guts. We literally invented the “save the whales” movement. I risked my life in small Greenpeace boats to protect whales, and it was during the campaigns of 1975 and 1976 that I became determined to do everything I could to save as many whales as I could for the rest of my life..
I left Greenpeace in 1977 simply because I needed to establish an organization that would intervene against illegal whaling and illegal exploitation of marine resources. The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society is not a protest organization. We are strictly a marine wildlife and habitat conservation organization that opposes illegal activities..
We have our niche and Greenpeace has theirs although it appears that Greenpeace is attempting to abandon that niche..
So, for these reasons, I have one message to send to Greenpeace: Return to the Southern Oceans in December to oppose the illegal whaling activities of the Japanese whaling fleet. Fail to return and I will see to it that the public is reminded that you took their money and did not finish the job, that you quit, retreated, and surrendered..
No one ever said it would be easy to shut down whaling, but quitting is cowardly and sends a strong message to Japan that they beat you – that they scared you because they fired a few harpoons over your head, that one of your crew got tossed into the sea in his survival suit, that one of your boats got bumped, and that some of your crew got seasick..
So, I expect Shayne Rattenbury or Steve Shallhorn or some other talking head from Greenpeace to recant their decision to abandon the whales and to make an announcement that they will indeed be returning..
What say you Greenpeace? Quit or stay the course..
The Sea Shepherd Antarctic crew is composed of international volunteers from Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Brazil, South Africa and France.
"We need to find and intercept these vicious killers as soon as possible. Every day of searching will cost the lives of whales," said Captain Paul Watson. "I hope that New Zealand and Australia will begin to cooperate and let us know where the fleet is instead of simply continuing to posture with words not backed up with action. I hope that Greenpeace will understand that cooperation can save whales. The Japanese whaling fleet is an international criminal operation targeting highly endangered whales in a whale Sanctuary in violation of a global moratorium on whaling. They operate because they know that no other governments have the guts to oppose them.
