SEAN KELLY BIOGRAPHYSean Kelly likes to play guitar...a lot of guitar. Fortunately, he has many opportunities to do so.Sean is the lead vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter for CRASH KELLY, his 70’s Glam Rock- influenced act that records for Los Angeles-based Century Media Records (specifically for their Rock N Roll imprint Liquor and Poker Music). CRASH KELLY has toured Europe and North America numerous times, most recently completing a North American trek with ALICE COOPER. CRASH KELLY’s sophomore disc, Electric Satisfaction, was produced by ex-Guns N Roses/current Rockstar Supernova guitarist GILBY CLARKE. CRASH KELLY recently saw this album, as well as the debut disc Penny Pills, released in Japan, with Electric Satisfaction making the best sellers list at Tower Records, Tokyo.In 2005, Sean was selected as a Top 10 finalist by GUITAR PLAYER magazine for their 2005 GUITAR HERO competition. Sean’s track “Something Hollywood” was selected from thousands of entries, and he was invited to perform at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, OH in front of celebrity judges such as STEVE LUKATHER, JOE SATRIANI, and Guitar Player editor JUDE GOLD. Sean was also honoured to be invited to play alongside such monster players as DON ROSS, JEFF MARTIN (Tea Party), PAVLO, and many others for LONG and MCQUADE's sixth annual GUITAR SUMMIT benefit concert for Music Education.Sean also keeps busy with a variety of other musical endeavours. He is currently the bass player for Juno Award-winning alternative music star CAROLE POPE, and has had the pleasure of being a member of such star-studded groups as REVOLVER (featuring NICK WALSH of SLIK TOXIK fame), and RYE (the brainchild of former MOIST bassist/DAVID USHER producer JEFF PEARCE). As the lead guitarist for REVOLVER, Sean was an integral player on their Drakkar/Sony/BMG debut TURBULENCE, an album which sold over 5000 copies in Europe, and spawned two heavy-rotation videos on MUCH LOUD. As a member of RYE, Sean had the pleasure of co-writing the song “If It’s True” with Jeff Pearce, and having it placed in an episode of the CBS series “JOAN OF ARCADIA”.Sean has also performed and/or recorded with artists such as rising coutnry star SHANNON LEE BRIGGS, WILD STRAWBERRIES, DALE MARTINDALE (IMAGES IN VOGUE), MARIA DEL MAR (NATIONAL VELVET), CHAD RICHARDSON, and many others. He releases, for labels such as NETTWERK/EMI, AQUARIUS/EMI, MAPLE/UNIVERSAL, VIRGIN/EMI, SONY/BMG, CENTURY MEDIA, to name a few.In addition, Sean recently co-wrote,sang, and played bass on a national advertising jingle for Pontiac automobiles.Sean holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Toronto, where he studied Classical Guitar with Eli Kassner. Sean puts this degree to use in his position as Vocal Music Teacher for the Toronto Catholic School board, where he teaches Kindergarten to Grade 6 at three different schools. He is also a senior staff teacher at Lippert Music Centre, where he has been teaching guitar since 1995.
