The three of us met at the Edinburgh College of Art. We’d all advertised for people who loved energetic riffs, lyrics that make sense, and rhythm that feet can’t help but dance to. And had short, brown, messy hair. No, that was just coincidence. Hey presto, we met, we turned on the amps, picked up the sticks, and we were away. That was a year ago come April. We’ve been busy ever since, gigging all over Scotland and beyond. Bassist Trev is from Dublin, Mikey our guitarist is from Galashiels and Sarah the singer/drummer hails from Brighton, and 2008 will see us up hill and down dale seeking more feet to get stomping - we love playing live, so come on gang, come and see us, there’s nery a seat that remains occupied for long. We make uplifting and urgent music with as much melody and substance as we can cram in, and we want you to come along for the ride!’Bang’ video
"The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Roxy Music and Franz Ferdinand...to that list, add Come On Gang!" Edinburgh Evening News (26th October, 2007)
"Unsigned Hereos" Vic Galloway Show, BBC Radio Scotland (26th November, 2007)
"Who to listen out for in 2008? Edinburgh College of Art students Come On Gang! could take the next step up this year" Edinburgh Evening News (4th January, 2008)
""What hits you first is the juxtoposition of Sarah’s voice with the noisy punk blueprint, and that’s EXACTLY WHAT MAKES IT WORK AND PUTS THEM ABOVE THE OTHERS!"
Daily Record (11th January, 2008)"Come On Gang! scream difference and urge you to have a closer listen. The band can play their instruments not only with a great passion, but also with such intensity that guarantees them a chance at being one of Edinburgh’s finest unheard sounds." Susan Ford Music Reviews (11th January, 2008)"Spiky pop with overtones of the Strokes and T Rex." Clyde 1 Radio (12th January, 2008)"Come On Gang! soon show that they have more to their repertoire than merely crashing drums and clashing guitars: A juxtaposition of soft poetic vocals and power punk riffs." The Skinny (January, 2008)"When the drums and the angular guitar hooks of Coming Home ignites the audience, they hold their own. Singer/drummer Sarah Tanat Jones has a voice like an angel. The oft-used ‘ones to watch’ seems entirely apt here." The Skinny (8th February , 2008)"Come on Gang! were worth waiting for. Their dynamic shouldn’t really work alongside the raw, noisy garage-punk fire of ‘Wheels’ and ‘Bang’, but a performance where such dissonant elements fell together nicely snared the attention without mercy. We say: like Beth Orton fronting Television." The List **** (13th March 2008)
