There's a review of the lads' last acoustic show online at www.bluesbunny.com
A punk, a rocker and a f*cked up bluesmanFRONTMEN from three leading Scottish punk, rock and blues bands came together for an exciting one-off triple-header acoustic show at The State Bar(downstairs), Holland Street, Glasgow on Thursday 5 July.
The punk element came courtesy of Jonzip McNeill, frontman of first-generation Glasgow punk band The Zips whose recent CD album guitars4hire and riotous live shows are showing new audiences what real punk is all about. Jonny Parr of hard rockers Attica Rage provided a good dose of rock to the mix as be prepares to launch his band’s debut album later in the year.
The bill was completed by Dave Arcari of alt.bluesers Radiotones who has more recently built a reputation as a solo singer/songwriter and ‘hell-raising National guitar madman’ with a string of CD releases and UK tour dates under his belt.
Although Arcari is no stranger to acoustic solo performance, Jonzip and Jonny have rarely played solo acoustic shows and proved an intriguing alternative amongst their regular fans. The three artists played two 15-minute sets each before coming for a grand finale of Hot Muscle Jazz and Blue Train. Awesome!
