About Me

Created in the spring of 2007, Sweetleaf consists of three members that came from three different diverse parts of the country. They came together at Musicians Institute with one thing in mind, their love of playing music. Desmond Raeburn Boomsluiter, 21, from the small town of LaConner in Northwest Washington was heavily influenced by other cultures and diverse music at a young age. With a natural knack for rhythm he soon discovered the beauty of sound and fell in love with percussive instruments. Robert Maxwell Geiger 18 born and raised in Simi Valley,CA was influenced by the sounds of his father playing blues guitar. He has been playing bass and piano since he was six and his love and inspiration for music came from listening to blues and grunge rock. Juliana Posse, 18, grew up in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida to the sounds of traditional Colombian music and culture. She has always been fascinated with the creation of music. Throughout the years she has learned how to play many instruments, then began studying music and found ways of expression through voice. These three friends started playing together in college, which soon led to "Sweetleaf". An Indie Alternative Visually Experimental group. They have mutual influences such as Jeff Buckley, Radiohead and Led Zeppelin. Sweetleaf has played shows at Musicians Institutes’ "Passage", The House of Blues on Sunset Strip, The Derby, 2007’s Hollywood Harvest Festival and 2007’s Halloween Bash at the Derby. In July 2007 Sweetleaf wrote and recorded their first Demo CD with producer Adam Beltran of Echocell. Sweetleaf’s ultimate goal is to be musically tasteful, to transport listeners into another mindset where they can breakaway from the everyday routine and enter them into a new state of sub-reality.Contact- Juliana Cristina [email protected] MyGen Profile Generator
