Jill Knox

Jill Knox, a pianist and singer/songwriter born in Buffalo NY, has just recently moved to California to study singing at the Musician’s Institute in Hollywood. Jill has been singing professionally for the past six years, studying music with Robin Randall (songwriter for Baywatch), Tommy Reeves (Smokey Robinson, Melissa Ethridge, Chaka Khan), and vocal technique with Carol Rogers (Stevie Wonder, Gerry Mulligan), Lisa Fournier, Wren Peele, and other private instructors. With a blues rock genre in the vocal styles of Amy Winehouse and Christina Aguilera, Jill has complimented her songs with unbridled lyrics from personal experience, observation, and milestones in her life. Jill is also a member of Optimist Farm, a band formed by her brother in 2005 in Raleigh NC. She plays keyboards and joins her brother as a lead vocalist. Jill is currently working on recording her first demo CD and plans to own an independent music label called Strawberry Fields Records. Beginning in October she will be interning at Hitt Records, a record company based in Hollywood, CA.
