Although formed in Los Angeles, Foreign Academy represents a band that is as diverse as their name would imply. With members' roots ranging from England, Portugal and the US – their sound is truly inspired by a profusion of artists and cultures. Foreign Academy is comprised of singer/keys Steven Wilkin, brothers & guitarists Paulo and Carlos Goncalves, bassist Taylor Brown and drummer Sammy None.
The band’s diverse background helps shape Foreign Academy’s dynamic yet melodic sound, which leverages Steven’s hypnotic and dramatic vocals along side the band’s rich textures of guitar attacks and driving rhythm. Their atmospheric sound has been often described as emotive and explosive – drawing from influences such as Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins and Jeff Buckley.
Foreign Academy plans on spending 2007 in & out of the studio applying the finishing touches on their demo, as well as playing some live club dates throughout California.
