NOTE: If you are on our friends list, and would like to leave a comment with a pic on it, DO NOT leave a comment pic with a pornographic image. We are anti-pornography and will delete every comment with a porno pic on it. Gory pics are ok as long as it doesn't go over the line. By 'over the line', we mean stuff like pics of cannibalism, pics of brutal rapes, etc.
ALSO NOTE: We will NOT put up with people putting down on us for being Christian. This is what we stand for and we will NOT quit what we are doing just because an atheist, satanist, or anti-Christian person doesn't approve. Deal with it.
If you want to ask us some questions, like about why we do this or what we believe, or just to say hello, that's cool. But don't put down on us for being Christian. Christianity is not the little 'butterfly and rainbow' belief system you think it is.
If you want to talk to the band, contact us via MySpace email, or our AIM screenname: thrashmetal5. If you IM us just to cuss us out, we will have no further contact with you. Stupidity will not be tolerated.
Matthew 10:22 - "All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved."
Other FAQs about ExMx:
1. We do not use FX on the vocals at all. We plug a floor mic into the back of a computer and play. It is our actual vocals.
2. We have to use a drum machine, because the drummers here either do not play as fast as we do, or they don't do blastbeats or double-bass. There is a horrible lack of drummers in our area, not to mention a lack of musicians altogether. The closest metal drummers around here are in bigger towns 50 miles from here, and none of them want to play Christian death/grind. Mainly because the church and the metalheads here do not support it.
3. We ARE a Christian band. This is not a joke or a gimmick. We are extremely serious about what we do.
4. Eternal Mystery's calling is to spread the Word of God to a lost and dying scene. We are not what you would call a 'religious' band, however, we are a straight-forward Christian band and are bold about sharing Christ with others. To us, Christianity is not about religion, it is about a relationship with a loving God, and we wanted to share that with the metal scene. Metal, especially grindcore, has too much negativity surrounding it, and our goal is to bring something fresh to the metal scene, something with a better message.
5. We are the first Christian death/grind, Christian metal, and metal band in the Washington Parish area of Louisiana.
The brutal music made by Eternal Mystery tends to fall into a genre that glorifies gore and porno. Eternal Mystery, a Christian band that plays grindcore, does not and will not ever support this imagery.
Eternal Mystery was started around July 2005 with Broc doing all instruments and Kyle doing vocals. These two metalheads started this with the mission of crushing Satan's skull and bringing the message of the hope found in Jesus Christ. Eternal Mystery recorded their first demo about September 2005 after Hurricane Katrina devastated their community. With hope in their hearts, Eternal Mystery pressed on, desperately continuing the assault on the goat and spreading the Gospel. Around November 2005, Eternal Mystery decided to go into a more goth/unblack metal type sound, and thus came forth the Demo 2005. Around January 2006, Brandon decided to join the band, making Eternal Mystery into a band instead of a music project. Since then, Eternal Mystery changed back to the original grindcore they played before the Demo 2005 was released. After a few weeks, Brandon took a break from the band. Eternal Mystery struggled to survive after this. A few weeks later, Brandon rejoined the band and the band started recording their first full length, “The Coming Armageddon Holocaustâ€.
The Demo 2005 and “The Coming Armageddon Holocaust†didn’t sell good, due to the quality of the recording and the keyboard-drum machine used. A few months passed, and then Broc received a software drum machine that was way better than the keyboard drums. Due to this, the keyboard drums were put to the side.
During those months, a deathgrind band by the name of Magisterium contacted Eternal Mystery in hopes of doing a split CD. The band accepted and recorded 9 songs for the split. Due to Magisterium’s lack of time for recording, Eternal Mystery’s side of the split was also released as an EP, called “Behold a Pale Horseâ€. The songs were of better quality and the software drum machine was used. This EP was released in October 2006, and the same EP was still going to be released on the split with Magisterium.
Around the same time, Eternal Mystery decided to record another full length CD, this time with a longer playing time and more songs. After 3 months of recording, the full length “Bruised for our Transgressions†was released in January 2007. This 31 song, 40 minute long release was a big accomplishment for Eternal Mystery. Shortly after the release of this album, Kyle had to leave the band for personal reasons. Currently, the band is recording and planning to release 3 split CDs: a split with Flesh Denial, a 4-way split with Vomitous Discharge, Flactorophia, and Demonic Dismemberment, and the split with Magisterium.
