About Me

Seaworthy formed in 2000 to explore melodic and experimental approaches to the construction (and unravelling) of minimalist sound scapes from looped guitar, warm drones, piano, electronics and field recordings.

Some reviewer's comments:
"ambient-soundscape/feedback loops that sound like the Velvet Underground's instruments half an hour after the band left the stage"
"A highly refined sense of texture is partly what makes Seaworthy such a striking ensemble. Though their instrumentation is minimal - guitar, quietly crackling noise and piano are the primary components - the subtle, ever-shifting terrain that they create is at once intimate and panoramic. Cyclic Defrost.
"Seaworthy is a low-key drone outfit who weave textures not dissimilar to the heavy hitters of the Kranky roster - Labradford, Keith Fullerton Whitman, Windy and Carl." Drum Media
"Sometimes the sound just hovers in a kind of delicate stasis, like a blur of movement momentarily frozen. The resolutions arrived at are subtle but fitting, either in the slow fade of a continuous hum or the gentle expulsion of note clusters." The Wire
