With their unpretentious appearance and their essentially reduced rock music, Soul Strip form a clear opposite to the self-loving and pathos-charged New-Rock motion.
Cheap attitude was never the way Soul Strip wanted to go. The story of Soul Strip began at the end of the 90s very unspectacularly in one of the name- and faceless suburbs of Zurich, when a handful guys decided to create great rock music. After a short time, progress was visible, they played more and more concerts, had first airplays on American college radios.
As a countermove to this progress, a lot of problems came up internally in the band. The recordings for the debut cd seemed to be prolonged and the band was close to breaking up. When Caught In Time was released in summer 2003, the inner strife of the band was shown very well.
The only members, which were still in the band from the beginning were guitarist Pat Wydler and singer Goran Bajic. With the two new members, Michi Woodtli and drummer Damian Fink, the long awaited calm came back into the band. The guys focused on the writing of new songs, worked on the arrangements and concentrated 100% on the music.
The hard work during the next months was paid off in the end. At the beginning of 2004, Soul Strip received a contract with the AmericanSwiss record label Reality Entertainment. Home of acts like Agent Steel, Marcy Playground and the legendary Warrior. Reality offered Soul Strip the chance to record a second cd in the states. The result is named Soul Strip and will be released on March 7th 2005 on Aurora Music in Switzerland.
In Spring 2006 Patrick Maerki joined the band as additional guitarist and full member of the family.
2007 was the year of changes. Woody left the band in March for personal reasons and got replaced by Ebi on bass. Finch decided to move to sunny California while young and energetic Dori got added to the band on drums.
New music is in progress.....stay tuned
