Hijax, Jack Bett, started writing music from the age of nine. First learning the piano, cello and then playing in a dozen different original bands playing bass, covering everything from jazz and blues to rock and death metal. Later, starting to concentrate on computer based recording and production, he moved more towards producing electronic funk, breaks and drum and bass writing under the name Katacolism. Several other projects were started during this time including The Mash Group, down tempo funk and jazz groves featuring master jazz musicians like Bo Bo Wang from miso, Tomi2hands from monsoon moon and Dr David Kastner from Mental Extensions. Learning the ways of trance production from such masters as Quench, Terrafractyl, The Wickerman and Neuron, Jack started producing trance in 2004. The Module project was born in 2005 with Dr Hash Brown and Quench to start experimenting with home grown tassie trance. Hijax is still concentrating on hard, dark, banging, psytrance and electronica.
