About Me

Sean Tracey has been playing harmonica for 15 years, and writing songs with a guitar for almost 10. Taking the stage with a harmonica for the first time as a blues player, Sean has run the guantlet of American music styles including high-speed keep up with the pickers Bluegrass, Old-Timey and straight ahead country. Sean fronted Juneau's Panhandle Crabgrass Revival Band for 8 years, and has since received a Rasmuson Foundation Project Award for song composition. With a freshman solo project in the works, he still makes time to travel around the state and beyond, but only after putting in 100 days a year commercial fishing in the Gulf of Alaska. Sean has performed with the PCRBand at the San Francisco Bluegrass and Old-Time Festival, Wintergrass, Anderson Country Music Fest, Talkeetna Moose Dropping Fest, the Portland Old-Time Gathering and hundreds of other venues up and down the West Coast and across Alaska. Sean plays regularly with Juneau bands the Vaporizers (blues harmonica) and the Splinter Pickers (bluegrass Martin guitar), and new country band Honky-Tonk Habit (thanks Nate)with frequent sit-in appearances with Bluegrass 101 and the Foghorn Stringband (junior varsity band member). Past sit in performances have inclued the Wilders (at the IBMA), the Improbabillies, Clark County Bluegrass, Green Wood, Frank Solivan II, Northern River, Open Road Bluegrass, Slim Pickins, Moses Kane, the Gallus Brothers, Wisconsin Slim and a brand new collaboration with Caleb Klauder and Sammy Lind. Watch for a CD release and relentless touring this coming fall/winter and support LIVE MUSIC!!
