What a year!

About Me

I have been a show off all of my life I think, so it stands to reason that I should enjoy acting at the Renaissance Festival. I came to opening day in 1989 and was instantly hooked. I have never missed coming to the Faire since that day and we usually came 4 or 5 times each year.In 2001 I was part of the cast for the first time as a hawker at the Fairhaven stage. I had more fun than should be legal and was sure I would become a regular character. Alas my working world conspired against me year after year and I was relegated to only being a patron. Then in 2006 on opening day my wife TLL (that's The Lovely Laura) and I were strolling through Fairhaven when I was stopped, (several times actually), by various folk asking when I was coming back. Well after some discussion with TLL we decided that if they wanted me I would go. The next day I was a street actor working with Becka and learning what it was like to roam about the faire as a character.I had so much fun that this year when Rob asked me to come back I jumped at it, bringing my excited but nervous wife with me on to the street. TLL was a bit nervous the first couple of weekends, but she began to build her confidence with alot of support from the other members of the Street Troupe and the Royal Court. By the end of this year's faire she was becoming an old pro at making patrons laugh and spew beer out their nose. The both of us are looking forward to working the Festival again, (if they'll have us), and seeing you all at the George and Dragon as often as we can. Write to us soon.
