Dr. Bond is the man of urban
America, who works untiringly in pursuit of HIS life’s mission to uplift the
people in the underserved communities of Brooklyn, New York. HE lives through
HIS calling as a licensed minister whose daily occupation exceeds beyond the
bounties of HIS pulpit and aids the socio-economic necessities of the human
condition. HIS doctorate level education is HIS background and HIS grassroots
approach to the needs if people is HIS forefront platform and both have
established HIM as a strong and progressive voice for the urban development,
Brooklyn is well acquainted with Dr. Kevin Bond.
HE devotes most of HIS days to
the joys and sorrows of the urban residents. At a glimpse, HE wakes each morning
at the ringing of HIS phone to answer the worries of many single moms,
underserved seniors, and needy children. HE was stood before the authorities,
pleading the causes of those young and old, who needed an advocate to fight for
their civil liberties and second chances. HE has comforted the cries of those
burdened by circumstances of their environment and economic conditions. HE
bridges their problems with immediate solutions by HIS love of God and by the
compassionate of HIS commitment, which continues to create positive change for
urban America. HIS connection to the urban
community is central from HIS church, Citadel of Praise and Worship Church,
where he pastors 300+ members, from HIS children’s learning center, Citadel Day
Care and Learning Center, where HE is a licensed employer of highly skilled
professionals and a pre-k educator, graduating three years of successful
students into grade school. HE is Assistant Principal at the Stephen Decatur
Middle School 35 in Bedford Stuyvesant, where he serves as Chair to several
committees and Boards. HE has accomplished a great deal of progressive learning
for the Board of Education. HE has led a coalition of teachers to implement a
school uniform policy to enforce equality attitudes among students. HE has enabled a stronger math
and reading tutorial program. All of HIS efforts helped to accomplish the
highest student performance years under his tenure, with notable progressive
increases in passing grades on citywide standardize tests. HE frequents the corridors of
City Hall, supporting city council initiatives that affect his community. HE is
an honored pastor and religious advisor to House Speaker Gifford Miller in New
York City Council, who continues to call upon HIS participation at breakfast
meetings and mission travels to contribute Council decisions which shape
policies that affect urban development. HE has contributed a great deal to the
City Council in their endeavors to encompass the strength of religious
leadership in their pursuit of improved community development relations between
constituency and government. In July of 2004 House Speaker Miller invited HIM to travel to Israel for a peace mission. HE traveled with the
Speaker as part of his 12 person delegation, which was sponsored by the UJA-Federation
of New York and the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York (JCRC). HE
was successful in HIS role to show solidarity with the people of Israel and
experience the strength and struggles of the region’s landscape. From the
Western Wall to the Judean Mountains, HE walked the grounds which gave face to
the theological teaching of HIS calling. To God be the GloryLayout by RealSource Marketing
