Sounds Like: PROFANE EXISTANCE nº 54 (2007).POLITBURO / CRIATURA Split 7".POLITBURO from Spain were a new band for me, though I had heard several CRIATURA recordings prior to this. POLITBURO have a interesting style of creepy upbeat punk rock with a keyboard. The bass lines are also clearly heard under the circus-y keyboard notes, which I like a good deal. The vocals are sung with dramatic emotion. Overall, I would describe them as a theatrical band with punk rock influences... which I think will grow on me the more I listen to it. CRIATURA continue on their newest release with their musical stylings of melodic political punk rock. The two songs on this 7" are upbeat and catchy, while managing to be really pretty at same time. The harmonizing male-female vocals are sung in Spanish, and their lyrical content is covers the issue of standing up for yourself and not letting society take its toll on you. (Maygun)
