Before the first note rang out, before the first captivating riff was released, before the first lyric cut through, they had the ear of Birmingham, AL. The word was out.
theDeadline had arrived.....
Birminghams very own Velvet Revolver was the description that Mark Lindsey (Music Director for WRAX the X in Birmingham) used the night he introduced Alive the first single the project released to the people. And the comparison was Dead on, because the stars had indeed aligned. Rock and Roll would never be the same again.
You see, each member had convinced the Steel City of its intent long before its union. The most accomplished member, J.D. Charlton (Drums, backing vocals, programming, engineering, and production) originally hailed from Birmingham, but had transplanted to Orlando, Florida while playing drums for Atlantic Recording artist Virgos Merlot. This project allowed him to open many sell out arenas for Creed, Sevendust, Bush, Tantric, Fuel, Finger Eleven, and many more national acts. Once Virgos had run its course, and after he had pursued other musical ventures in Florida, J.D. returned to his hometown where he found a long time friend and unexpected new beginning.
Harold Goolsby (Bass, backing vocals), had been destroying stages around the southeast, for a number of years as the bassist for Intense Regret. He had befriended J.D. while the two where hammering the local scene making a name for there respective projects. Years had passed and directions had changed, somehow it brought the two back together again. Once Harold heard of J.D.s arrival back in town he knew he had the right ingredient to complete his greatest work to date.
During his hiatus from Intense, Harold had teamed up with two of the most innovative songwriters in the area, Joe Brantley (Vocals) and Billy Harvey (Guitars). Joe, a powerful front man with cutting lyrics and a burning intensity, was the voice that commanded Dead Cel Factor, while Billy a possessed virtuoso with a vicious tone, was the fuel that fed the machine. Known for their outlandish laser light show and relentless stage presence, they rocked the Birmingham music scene with wild face paint and wardrobe in a way that had never been done before. Together they found success throughout the southeast with Dead Cel.
When you combine these electrifying elements what do you get? SHOCKED!
