I attempt to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and I am also straight edge, and I have no interest in cramming either of these beliefes down anybodys thoats.
I work at the phone company.
I sing and play guitar in the band Joanie Hears Voices (www.myspace.com/joaniehearsvoices)
I have a radio show on a low power FM station in Tuscaloosa, AL. The station is Free 103 FM, and my show aires on Saturday nights from 10 PM to 2 AM. On the show I play Christian metal and hardcore. Being a "low power" FM means that you'll have to live within a 25 mile or so radius of the UA campus to hear the station. I was just informed that my show would be simulcast in Auburn, AL at the beginning of 2008, I'm pretty stoked about it!
I am a huge fan of the New York Mets, I have family up North and they got me into the Mets at an early age; thus the reason for being a Metty in Alabama. I am also a big fan of the University of Alabama, not obnoxiously so, but I catch all the games.
I have a wonderful family who have always been there when I needed them, even when I didn't realize how much I needed them at the time. They've always been there. I've let them down, and allowed them to suffer while I stood by unable to see that I could do something about it. They always allowed their concern for my pain to outweigh the concern for the pain that they were feeling. And they've suffered with me and cast their lot with mine when I've been to hell and back emotionally & physically. They are precious and a treasure that cannot be substitued for and never replaced, and the decisions I make everyday for the rest of my life will be tempered with the thought of how my actions will affect them. My parents are the best archetype I've seen for a healthy marriage & my sister is the future of our family and I am very proud of her and am thankful to see the young lady she has become, and how her relationship with Christ has kept her from following the terrible paths that I went down when I was her age. She gives me hope for the teens of this time period.
I also like to travel and have recently started taking weekend road trips around the southeast and beyond, recently I've gone to Elvis Presley's home "Graceland" in Memphis, TN...very cool, Pensacola a couple times, Chicago, Michigan, Canada and Louisville, Kentucky. I aspire to become an official member "in good standing" of the Elite Travel Squadron. It will require many more trips on my part to prove my mettle to the founders of the ETS, but it is my highest priority to meet their demanding standards!

It was brought up the other day as to who all I've played music with, I figured I'd make a quick list from memory...
various and sundry metal bands that never got off the ground due to youth and inexperience...but fun nontheless, one in particular featured life long friend "BIG" Dan Chatham, that one was the most fun. Our two song Metallica cover recording was recorded by Dan's father Denny Chatham. Denny recently passed away but his loving influence on my life will always bring back fond memories.(92-93)
The Nathan Peak Band (94-95)saw they were playing a show just a couple weeks ago, that's longevity folks!
Electric Vagabond (95-96)-this band featured great friends Chris Stamps, Kylie Jackson and Dave Crenshaw. It was a rock trio that recorded a 6 or 7 song demo. Had a blast, learned a lot. Dave Crenshaw is now a hip hop mogel that travels all over producing huge rapper guys...now what did I do with his number.....
Godsend/Flax/Flax prf (96-01)- a great run and also the most important time of spiritual mentoring I have ever experienced in my life. During this time I got saved and Mike, Toby, Randall and Ryan all are brothers/fathers in the faith to this day.
Remember Sammy Jankis (brief stint in 04)-this was a very important experience for me because I felt like all my musical worth had been spent by 01 and when these guys called out of the blue, asking for me to play bass for them; it was humbling exciting and challenging. These guys were by far the best players I've ever played with on a technical level and I was hanging on for dear life. This experience provided me the opportunity to share the stage with some of my favorite people and players; JD Junkins, Joseph McQueen, Kyle Roberts and for a single show my good friend Eric Gay.
**All In (05) The reason for the asterics is that I was never in All In, I never attended a practice, and have never played with them since, but I did recieve a call from Kyle Roberts requesting that I play second guitar for them. I ended up being too busy to do it and let the opportunity pass by...these guys are signed and touring now...brilliant move on my part lol!
Empire in Ruins (05-06)-fun band, played pretty regularly.
Ashes Fall (06) there was a one time fill in I did when they were between drummers, it was a lot of fun and I appreciate their willingness to let me do something I'd always wanted to do, play drums. Thx for makin the dream happen bros!
Strike Zone (06-08)from the ashes of Empire In Ruins came Strike Zone, I am very proud of what we accomplished while I played with these guys and I can't wait to see what is next for the Zone!
Joanie Hears Voices (07-?) finally the opportunity to pursue some funky rock n roll with long time bro Ryan Hart. We are playing out now so stay tuned to myspace.com/joaniehearsvoices for more dates!
