No one has been more surprised at how well my life turned out than me. I started my professional life as a lawyer (Northwestern University School of Law – 1970 with a BA in Political Science from the University of New Mexico BA. before that.) Then I became a painter / sculptor shown in the best galleries in America and beyond.
The first of my published books, OUT OF THE STUDIO, made publishing history in 1990 as the first big book of male nudes to penetrate the first class book store market with record numbers. Over 57,000 copies of the book sold within about two years. I’ve had great guidance and support at the beginning – Robert Mapplethorpe's lover/mentor Sam Wagstaff was my first editor/advisor. Since 1990, I’ve seen 12 of my books published, found myself taught in colleges and universities, had three documentary films made about my work, including the GVAN Best Picture award winning ON THE COUCH, been published in more than two dozen anthologies and histories of the male nude in art with countless collateral publication in magazines and art journals.
My most recent works – the ON THE COUCH series and the new DEEP SEX series have taken erotic art to new levels both in the art world and in the world of adult entertainment at my site TOMBIANCHI.COM. I have a new series of Ebooks just coming out – for example WHITE PARTY WEEKEND -- DEEP SEX / FEET — DEEP SEX / BONDAGE — DEEP SEX / TOUCH -- MEN IN BLUE WATER -- that describe the real erotic lives of some of the most incredible free spirited men from all over the world. We have ten new books and films in development.
I’ve always been fascinated by the idealized male body – even going so far as to compete myself in the last Gay Games in Chicago where I took the silver medal in my class.
