Bifidus

Bifidus (Juan Carlos Flores S.) is a Mexican artist based in Mexico City. His creative process suggests several technics and applications around sonic atmospheres, oniric ambiences, and soundscapes, which in their structure fuses i.d.m. with variations of ambient, techno, and dub. This sounds´ engineering results as a vigorous visual texture, rhythmic microstructures, clicks/cuts, and striking bass lines. He is an active producer, his experimentation with glitches, field recordings, various software and different sampling processes have led him to collaborate with outstanding periodicity, producing remixes and reinterpretations from tracks of other musicians. He has been summoned to participate in live acts of Mínimas Texturas, as in forums like Galeria h4tch, Centro Cultural de España en Mexico, Universidad del Claustro de Sor Juana. He also has taken part in diverse festivals such as Transitio 01 at Centro Nacional de las Artes, Electrónica Mexicana (on-line festival), Plataforma and Festival Interface, which has become one of the must important Mexican platforms for innovative artistic proposals generated through digital media. Bifidus restates constantly his production schemes and his aesthetical resources, this fact allows him to have an important presence, as in cultural institutions, or in forums oriented to intelligent dance music.
