I like to listen. I have learned a great deal from listening carefully. Most people never listen. -E

About Me

If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway. ~Mother Theresa
I graduated from Purdue with a BA in behavioral science. Looking for a job so I can get experience and make money before I go to grad school where I'm planning on getting a master's in social work. I'm a Court-Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) and I love working with kids of all ages. My favorite part about social work is meeting new people and hopefully being able to help someone out. Social work can be really draining but having a good sense of humor helps. In my spare time my favorite thing to do is see live music, which I try to do every week if possible. I love music festivals. I also love reading, cooking (mostly because I like eating), traveling, being outdoors and hanging out with my cats. I'm a pretty chilled-out person who is fun to be around...most of the time. If you're in "The Region" you can find me rocking out at a Freek Johnson, Groovatron or Planetary Blues show. This profile was edited with The CricketSoda Myspace Editor ..

My Interests

Music, reading, animals, nature, travel, cooking, social sciences, philosophy, roller derby, OPIE & ANTHONY and RON AND FEZ ON XM BIG ASS 202!! I try to find new interests whenever possible because I get bored fast

I'd like to meet:

New/old friends, hippies, musicians and music lovers, animal lovers, intelligent people, mountain men, another leprechaun that I can mate with Nick.

Music:

I don't discriminate too much in the kind of music I listen to. As long as it's talented and creative that's all that matters. Can't stand country-pop but I like a lot of old country music like Hank Williams, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, etc. and I also really like bluegrass. I love "jambands", jazz, funk,hip-hop, folk, rock, reggae, metal, traditional Celtic music, jug bands...basically I just love music.

Movies:

I love music dvds, some of my favorites right now are The Last Waltz by The Band, The Allman Brothers Band: Live at the Beacon Theater, and the Festival Express. I'm into documentaries and indie films. I really like the Coen brothers and the whole Ben Stiller/Vince Vaughn/Will Ferrell thing. I could watch any Adam Sandler movie over and over. Except The Waterboy. 90% of that movie was garbage. Pretty much the only movies I don't get into are action films and disgustingly cute romantic comedies.

Television:

A&E, Court TV, Animal Planet, all the Discovery Channels, National Geographic, Food Network, I watch the Logo channel more than any gay person I know, American Idol, just about any kind of documentary, a lot of shows on HBO, adult swim, Comedy Central, I love reality tv...mostly those 'celebreality' shows, old sitcoms

You are extremely naive. You'll believe whatever anyone tells you. This is because your parents have sheltered you.

Books:

Anything by Joan Didion...I just finished "Running with Scissors" by Augusten Burroughs, a book so interesting that I read all 350-something pages in two sittings. "This Wheel's on Fire" by Levon Helm, drummer for The Band...one of my favorite books so far. I've been reading a lot of political books lately, "Blowback" by Chalmers Johnson is a good book...Also reading an interesting book called "The Far Enemy: Why Jihad Went Global". I like nonfiction, 'new journalism', and autobiographical books. And I'm one of those people who love Harry Potter. I also just read a compilation of essays called 'The Bitch in the House' which I enjoyed because I am one. Over the summer I read some memoirs- 'Smashed', 'The Glass Castle', and 'Detour', which are about drug abuse, poverty, and bipolar disorder. I bought this thing at a garage sale called 'The Meditation Workbook' that I'm still figuring out but it seems cool

Heroes:

There are a lot of people in my life I look up to, but I don't know if anyone is really a hero. I admire anyone who puts other people before themself.
