Get up offa' dat thang!

About Me

I play drums, I very occasionally read and love comedy television. I'm so racist, I wear black socks for Tennis but really... I can dance (The Medway shuffle, The Kappa Kap, The syncopated Spasm, and my coup de grace.... The Standing Still - Dismemberment Plan, I salute you)COME SEE MY FUCKING BAND: THE VIBRANTSI work at the Manor Club on friday nights (come on down!! see the children play!) and decorate occasionally, but who cares to be honest...

My Interests

Nostalgic and osbcure Pop-Culture references

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who can identify the sound of Beef Wellington falling down 3 flights of stairs. And this guy! Truly inspirational concept and I think it should perpetuated around the world. T-Shirts? Might look a bit desperate

Music:

!

Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Meshuggah, Isis, Cult of Luna, Tool, A Perfect Circle, Deftones, The Mars Volta, Callisto, Grails, Mare, Jesu, Pelican, Nostromo, Mastodon, Kayo Dot/maudlin of the well, Godspeed You Black Emperor!, The Who, Ion Dissonance, Enablers, Lightning Bolt, Bohren und Der Club of Gore, The Cinematic Orchestra, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Opeth, Shellac, Slint, Sunn 0))), The End, John Zorn, Goatsnake, JS Bach, Holst, Beethoven, Horse the Band, Explosions in the Sky, Rush, Mew, Beecher, Botch, Buried Inside, Cave-In, Sikth, The Locust, Planet X/Virgil Donati, Oxbow, Primus, Discordance Axis, Ozric Tentacles, Weather Report, Santana to name a few off the top of the ol' noggin'.(Recently got into: Steely Dan, From Monuments to Masses, Hella and Don Caballero; back into: Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea/Return to Forever, Ian Dury, Devin Townsend/Strapping Young Lad, Dismemberment Plan, Fela Kuti, Manu DiBango, Loads of indie too.) The rest? I'm sure you can extrapolate... '92 Dance Scene anyone?

Movies:

Hating the plagiarised state of the Mainstream Movie Industry atm... But aren't we all? Black Belt Jones has to be the best...phrmmpph muhahaha Oh Jim Kelly, you legend!!! Haven't seen Forrest Gump but have seen 'Man bites Dog', 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind' and 'Funnyman'.. Work that one out

Television:

Meh, sometimes I don't realise it's on. This is what I would watch if I hadn't downloaded it months/years before it's UK release: Family Guy, Simpsons, Futurama, American Dad Occasionally Top Gear and bits like Extras. All the good comedies and a few other things, but haven't really watched TV much in a looong time. PS A bit too much melodrama on the box atm ACTUALLY When the cricket's on I'm up till 8 o clock in the morning.

Books:

Just finished Fatherland. Now it's finishing Bukowski and Just bought Gravity's Rainbow - heamorrhage anyone? Perhaps some Aldous Huxley. Any suggestions would be gratefully received

Heroes:

The numerous mothers and fathers, who created the art of being down with the funk. Oh and Everyone who got me to where I am today, you know very well who you are! Thankyou, bruthas 'n sistahs (and ma 'n pa - 'nuff love)
