Though I focus on cartooning, I have a love and respect for all forms of art. Anything creative really. I love reading, writing, and music...and wish that I was musically talented in some way... I guess Ill have to stick with the car and shower for my singing performances! I have a ton of interests, and am not sure I will be able to list them all... I like history, comedy, cartoons, comics, true crime, psychology, supernatural, paranormal, learning, researching, nostalgia, theology, and yadda yadda yadda. As far as what I like to do... Im pretty much up for anything so long as the company is enjoyable.
I use to ask everyone what three people, living or dead, they would like to have dinner with. My answer has always been Jesus, Elvis, and Bugs Bunny... Sure, Bugs Bunny is a cartoon character, but I figure that Jesus could pull that one off for me! Most of the folks Id like to meet are already passed... Historic figures, artists, musicians, etc... Oh well, maybe Ill see some of them one day!
I love all kinds of music! Primarily, I tend to lean more towards rock and blues...but I have a ton of different genres in my cd collection, from different eras of music (from the twenties to now). But yeah, I like most rock... folk, fifties, sixties, classic, modern, hard, alternative, whatever! I love old southern and black gospel, but dont get too much into the modern contemporary christian music. I love some blues, love some soul, love some r.... This is too hard... I like it all! There are several musicians that I love and respect, but my all time favorite is Elvis Presley! THE KING!!! Followed by Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan...
As with music, I love all kinds of movies... Horror, comedy, drama, action, etc... Im a huge movie buff and seen a million of them! Here are some that Ive seen a couple dozen times, and in no particular order Napolean Dynamite, Anchorman, Slingblade, Lost Boys, Garden State, Amettyville Horror, Jaws, Spiderman one and two, X-men, The Crow, King Creole, Viva Las Vegas, The prophecy, Casino, all of the Godfathers, The Passion, The Iron Giant, Army of Darkness, The Princess Bride, Shawshank Redemption...... Anyway, I can go on and on... so Ill stop. Im also a sucker for documentaries... If I see one on tv, chances are Ill watch it no matter what the subject!
I dont get to watch much TV... I havent had cable for a while. I keep meaning to get it again, but keep putting it off. As far as shows, I have recently gotten into the CSI series.. any of them.. I absolutely love that stuff! If I had cable, I would probably watch a lot of discovery, history channel, comedy central, and cartoon network. And any of those other channels that have a lot of weird documentaries. Scrubs is probably my favorite show to date..and the funniest one on TV in my opinion. I also dig the CSIs and House whenever I catch them.
Ive been reading a lot of non-fiction lately. Spiritual books by authors like Max Lucado, Chuck Swindol, and Lee Strobel. As far as fiction, Ive always read horror. Stephen King and Anne Rice are my favs in that area. Books are something that I collect as well, and are amongst my prized possessions! I have a very weird and diverse collection! Id like to have a library, one day, with books lining every wall.
As cliche as it may sound, I view many of the people in the Bible as heroes. Not because of what they did...but the fact that they followed thier purpose and calling despite themselves. These folks were the lowest of the lows of humanity, yet God loved them, blessed them, and chose them to do his work. And even though they regularly stumbled, they maintained a passionate heart for God. In general, I see anyone who goes above and beyond for another as a hero. People who sacrifice themselves and thier well-being to try and make this world a better place. I hope to find my purpose in that one day.
