Soundwalk is an innovative concept, producing cutting-edge audio guides in which the listener is able to step into the life of a narrator as they guide you through their neighborhood streets and local hang-outs.
Soundwalks mix fiction and reality in a cinematic experience giving the listener the impression of actually being in a film.
Soundwalk has created over 20 walks in New York alone: from the birth of Hip Hop in the Bronx with Jazzy Jay and Afrika Bambaataa to a memorial walk in Ground Zero with famed author Paul Auster.
In 2004, Soundwalk won the Audie Award® by the Audio Publishers Association for best original work, honoring excellence in audio publishing for their Bronx Soundwalk.
In 2005, Soundwalk was nominated again for an Audie Award® for best original work to honor the Ground Zero Sonic Memorial Soundwalk. For that same Sonic Memorial Soundwalk narrated by Paul Auster, Soundwalk won the Dalton Pen Award® for best Multimedia audio and the Audio File Earphone® for Best Original work.
In 2006, Varanasi-The City of Light, a tour in India, is
nominated for Audie Award® for best Spiritual work.
In 2007, Soundwalk teamed with Sony Pictures to create the official Da Vinci Code audio guide for the Louvre Museum, featuring Jean Reno as narrator, as well as the voices of Tom Hanks, Audrey Tautou, Ian McKellen and Paul Bettany. A series of walks in five different “quartiers†of Paris showcase the next wave of French actresses Virginie Ledoyen, Lou Doillon, Isild le Besco, Hélène Fillières and Florence Loiret-Caille. This series has since been adapted for television and was featured in the French film festival of Paris-Cinema.
