About Me

Where to begin? I think everyone imagines themselves as much more interesting and important than they actually are so if I am to be honest… well, I am probably quite boring and lead a fairly average life. Things haven't always been as good as they are now so I am very content with what I have-- a wonderful husband, a comfortable house, a caring family, a good education and the prospect of an even greater future. My husband is part robot and would like very much if we could move into outerspace so if you are able to help him and us in this endeavor and his upkeep, let me know. I love to read almost anything and study languages of all kinds. Currently I am working on teaching myself how to speak Japanese (I think writing will have to wait until later) and am hoping to make a trip to Japan and/or Asia as soon as possible. En ce moment, j'enseigne le français aux jeunes adolescents. If you can't understand what I just said, you should learn French - parce que c'est EXCELLENT, important et utile! I prefer animals over people for the most part and I get great satisfaction from doing my part to help save them from themselves and ignorant, irresponsable or evil people. I am probably the crazy cat lady in your neighborhood (although I think most people who know me would say there is no 'probably' involved) because any injured, stray or feral cat that comes to our house eventually ends up living in our yard or house unless we can find them a good home (which all depends on their ability to trust people and I can't really blame them if they never do). Contact me if you have any questions about how to help animals in your neighborhood. flowers layout powered by HOT FreeLayouts.com / MyHotComments

My Interests

Here are some items I am interested in that I shall submit for your consideration: languages, travel, scuba diving!, animals (esp: kitties/chickens), music, politics/world events, art and artistic people, literature, movies, clothing (but not necessarily fashion), being @ home, Wii - playing right now: Trauma Center (New Blood), DDR (secretly-shh!), basketball (go NEW Trailblazers!), and most anything else is better left to the imagination of the reader/viewer...

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who is mysterious, dysfunctional, honest, creative, silly, understanding, lovely, interesting, humble, intelligent, humorous, empathetic, wordly, loyal, engagé…

Music:

I will listen to almost anything but here are some artists currently in my iPod: Edith Piaf, Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, Nouvelle Vague, The White Stripes (Get Behind Me Satan), David Bowie, Björk (Sugarcubes), Stéréo Total, Pixies, The Rolling Stones (pre1980) Freezepop, Violent Femmes, Lupe Fiasco, Peaches, Siouxie and the Banshees, Nous Non Plus, Slick Rick, Brazilian Girls, The Fugees, Lady Sovereign (Vertically Challenged), N.E.R.D (In Search of…), Lilly Allen, Gym Class Heroes, Bloc Party, Sonic Youth, Camille,

Movies:

CURRENT RECOMMENDATION: Renegade (2004) - AKA : "Muraya: L'expérience secrète de Mike Blueberry", "Blueberry", "The Adventures of Mike S. Blueberry" - "RENEGADE is an ambitious hybrid of genres that occupies a liminal space similar to that of its main character, Mike Blueberry (Vincent Cassel). Building on the conventions of the Western and adding psychedelic elements and the sophisticated - albeit atypical - European sensibilities of director Jan Kounen, the result is a fascinating and compelling existential film about self-definition and the untapped regions of the mind." --A very interesting film that does a good job of portraying the effect that psychedelics can have on the mind and an in-depth look at the spirituality of the Native Americans. Although normally I'm not a fan of westerns, this is one worth watching because there is so much more to it. Of course, it doesn't hurt that it stars one of the best French actors ever, Vincent Cassel, along with Juliette Lewis (with a lovely nude scene at the end), Michael Madsen and Eddie Izzard (as one of the bad guys). LAST RECOMMENDATION: Tekkon Kinkreet (2002) Based on Taiyo Matsumoto's popular manga serial "Black and White," this surreal anime adventure follows two penniless orphans, Black and White, struggling to survive on the mean streets of Treasure Town. Black and White engage in the fight of their life. --One of the most amazing, impressive and emotional japanimation movies I've ever seen. I would highly reccomend watching it if you have any appreciation for the genre or art in film itself. -I adore movies and will watch anything interesting but here are some that stick out: RECENT: Shaolin Soccer, Kung-fu Hustle (Steven Chow), Les Revenants (FR), Ma peau (dégueulasse! - FR), Mirror Mask, Pan's/Labyrinth, Borat, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Minority Report, Perfume, Murder Party, Knocked Up (silly funny), *La haine (MUST SEE! - France)* --my fav genre: HORROR MOVIES (esp: Japanese and Korean): Old Boy, J.S.A. (not horror but a great film!), Sympathy for Lady Vengeance/Mr. Vengeance, Three Extremes (Chan-wook Park - S. Korea), Ichi the Killer, Audition, MPD Psycho (Takashi Miike - Japan), Bright Future, Cure, Doppelgänger (Kiyoshi Kurosawa - Japan), Tenebrae, Suspiria, Trauma (+ ALL Dario Argento - Italy), Memento Mori, Whispering Corridors (S. Korea), Darna Mana Hai (Bollywood horror), High Tension (France), *Save the Green Planet (sci-fi - MUST SEE - S. Korea)* OTHER GENRES: Lolita, Clockwork Orange, Full Metal Jacket (+ ALL Stanley Kubrick), Satyricon, Guilietta degli spiriti, Ginger e Fred (+ ALL Federico Fellini), The Royal Tennenbaums, The Life Aquatic (+ ALL Wes Anderson), The Birds, Vertigo, Dial M for Murder, Frenzy (+ ALL Alfred Hitchcock), Sleeper, Take the Money and Run, The Purple Rose of Cairo (+ ALL Woody Allen), From Manhattan (1979)
